The Quoc Viet Foods Thai Tom Yum Flavored Soup Base makes a delicious, spicy broth that’s super easy to whip up. Just add shrimp and veggies, and it’s like restaurant Tom Yum at home, though it’s a bit salty if you overdo it.

I love Tom Yum soup but it is not se easy to get. I found this base and now can make it myself quite easily. The best part is I can add extra ingredients and make my own version of it. Usually it only has a few slices of mushrooms for vegetables, which I do not like. When I make it I use up what ever vegetables I have in the fridge and add my favorite vegetable, corn. It is more hearty and filling but still has that great Tom Yum sweet / spicy / sour taste. I will also use up whatever protein we have left over versus just sticking to chicken. Many times it is chicken we have left over from a rotisserie chicken. Other times I use left over ribs. I even add left over rice from a Chinese take-out order or noodles. I then add some coconut milk and maybe some other seasonings and butter, let it simmer and it is done. Point is, I use up my left overs and put my own hearty twist on it. It is then quite practical and inexpensive but so good. I also make a big pot and freeze some for a quick treat in the future. My husband just loves it and raves to all about this soup. I would highly recommend this soup base. You and your loved ones will love it and they will love you for making it!

Tastes really good and just like the Vietnamese restaurant I used to live next to. Super convenient for making a small amount too. Not overly spicy

I ordered this because I love Tom Yum soup and was wondering if you can get something in a bouillon / paste form to put in water to make it. This tastes good.

Pretty sure I've already reviewed but just in case: we use this to make vegetarian (not vegan AFAIK) soup that is sort of a cross between hot and sour and tom yum. This product makes it easy to get a really good head start on a big batch of delicious "multi-day" soup. Add your own tofu and etc or whatever and season/spice your own way and you are good to go!Also great: stores dry. Save space in your fridge!

This is a powder, not a paste, but this product does taste much closer to what they serve at most American Thai restaurants. I prefer this actually over the paste versions. It smells very aromatic. Excellent quality. Only one caveat is the price. I bought this twice here on sale, which still cost more than it does in an Asian grocery store...but the full price...no, catch this on sale or find it in a grocery store. That's true of almost all groceries fyi.

I recently had Tom Yum broth at a Local hot pot hotspot near my house! I instantly fell in love with the flavor of the broth and couldn’t wait to have more. This soup mix tastes just like the restaurant. I simply made it as the package directions suggested, and then added some mini wonton at the end to cook, and it was an amazing soup combination!
