Probably the best decision I made in my life
Probably the best decision I made in my life! Seriously. I'm 33 about to be 34 in 2 days and I've been TTC for about 7 years now. I just recently went to the fertility dr. and they told me that my only hope is IVF. They put me on two rounds of clomid and I didn't ovulate. I decided to take control of my body and stop relying on medicine. This is a good first step. Honestly, it isn't too crazy, you're going to have to expect to buy a few things when you are changing out the way you eat. I spent 120.00 on the staples,(arrowroot flour, spices, etc) and vegetables/fruits. I've been mostly following the diet for about 1 1/2 now and I honestly can tell a difference. I am not as bloated and I don't feel disgusting after I eat now. Along with the recipes, it does go in to a little detail about why our (PCOS) bodies react the way they do with food, but I would also suggest getting "8 Steps to Reverse Your PCOS" by Dr. Fiona McCulloch. I think these books go perfectly together!!

Bad recipe writing and negative messaging
I found this cookbook very disappointing in both the actual recipes and the messaging. In terms of recipes, they were poorly written or at least poorly edited. One recipe asked you to preheat the oven BEFORE letting shrimp marinate for an hour plus. A lot of the time the yield was off, even with using the exact amount of ingredients, it would often make way more than expected. One recipe just said to add peppers to a skewer, no clarification on how (chop them first? Put an entire poblano on without deseeding?). Plan on adding extra seasoning to your taste because the protein often tastes bland. One recipe had a photo with other components (the photo included quinoa and spinach) but the recipe doesn’t call for that.In terms of messaging, it often feels very shame-y. It reads like a crash elimination diet, ruling a ton of foods as strictly off limits. Anyone who has had issues with their relationship with food (I.e. eating disorders) may find this triggering. Do some research on elimination diets and why they are dangerous/don’t work. One section of the book even mentioned that if you feel perhaps self-conscious with a PCOS diagnosis, maybe wait to date until you have been on this diet for a while...to me this awfully feels like it’s telling you to try and loose weight or clear your skin before you’re worthy of dating and enjoying your life. I think a lot of this book was incredibly tone deaf and inaccessible.I would skip this.

Love! Helped me lose 11 lbs so far.
With being recently diagnosed with PCOS, this book helped me learn a TON about PCOS and the body. It's not just a cookbook, but an informative book. It tells you all about what to eat and avoid and how the body works with PCOS. So far I've lost 11 lbs in a month and I haven't been able to lose weight in years. I also love the smooth book cover.

Great book, I am not newly diagnosed
Great book, I am not newly diagnosed, but it gives a lot of information about PCOS that Dr.s just may not share with patients in their 5 minutes of consulting. I bought her other book too, which is written just as well, and there are no duplicate recipes.

Dumbed down
Let me preface this with the fact that I read a lot of nutrition/recipe books. So when one sticks out, good or bad, it’s easy for me to spot the issues. I hated this book. And I made the mistake of ordering her recipe book at the same time, so both were promptly returned. Do you like being treated like a child by an author? Do you like concluding statements without any explanation? No? Me neither. Run away from this book and this “author”!! The other two books I ordered pertaining to the topic and found to be much better are 8 Steps to Reverse Your PCOS by Fiona McCulloch & The Insulin Resistance Solution by Rob Thompson.

Changed my life!
When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I was crushed. We had tried for a baby for so long, and now it seemed even further away. Little did I know that finding the issue is the first part of healing! I ordered this book and changed my diet completely! And now (along with medications) we are finally pregnant! We couldn't be happier. The recipes are easy to follow, and I love the pantry check list in the front!

For Newly Diagnosed
This book was a great first step for being newly diagnosed with PCOS. After purchasing and following this book I highly recommend purchasing Woman Code by Alisa Vitti.

Not for me.
I thought this would be more recipes. It doesn't have that many recipes and no pictures. The recipes seem a little much. I was looking for recipes that would take normal, every day foods and show me how to make them a healthier way or change ingredients for pcos/insulin resistance. I don't love it, but someone with more time and into recipes without pictures might find this book useful. I read the reviews and thought I would give it a try since sometimes what might not work for some will work for others. That was not the case for me. Definitely returning.

PCOS
This book was purchased to help my daughter understand her recent diagnosis from her GP. Since reading and using the receipes within the book she has been able to change her diet and has a better knowledge of how certain everyday food and drinks were causing her illness to burden her quality of life. .She is a university student living away from home, so needed to change to a gluten free, dairy free, wheat free diet in order to manage her overall wellbeing . This book is full of lots of benefitial points that help to explain what triggers PCOS and how to live a happy, healthly less painfull life.

Complicated & expensive food list
If you are looking for an easy to follow PCOS British diet do not get this book. The info about PCOS is good but the recipes are complicated and the ingredients expensive. To be honest you would be better with a low GI book or a basic insulin resistance diet book. Don’t waste your money.
