great tool - really impressed - used it to insulate overhead garage door
Purchased this in order to cut 1.25” thick foam to insulate the overhead garage door. I really dreaded cutting the foam because it normally results in a huge mess but with this tool there is no mess. The tool worked great and I would highly recommend it for anyone that plans to cut foam. It made cutting easy and found it great to make detailed cutouts as well with the leftover foam.I called a garage door company to get a price on insulating the door and they wanted $1,300.00 but with this tool and $65 of R6 foam I was able to do it myself in about 1 hour.

Pure Magic
The media could not be loaded. In July of 2020, I purchased some heavy-duty XPS foam in order to create a Harry Potter diagon alley model. Thinking that the foam wouldn't be too difficult to get through, I first tried using a box cutter and utility knife to cut out the pieces that I needed. This. Went. Horribly. After 20 - 30 minutes of decently hard labor, I was left with ugly chunks of foam that were completely unusable for my project. Not sure what to do, I purchased this foam cutter online, thinking that it would make the job slightly easier.Boy did I underestimate this thing. This is absolute magic. As soon as I touched the foam cutter to the XPS foam the foam virtually melted. The foam cutter slid through it so easily. It was easier than running a knife through room-temperature butter. It cut the styrofoam in a matter of second and left clean, defined lines. The foam chunks I cut out now look neat and professional - as I want them to.Besides the fact that this foam cutter works unbelievably well, the setup is also extremely easy. Attaching the foam cutter to the cord and then plugging it into the outlet took about 15 seconds. It was working immediately and I experienced no technical difficulties. In addition to this, the kit comes with more wire, a pen for marking foam, two electric pens, and a stand for the foam cutter. The fact that the kit comes with this makes me even more impressed. If you are thinking about getting this product, please do it. It is worth every penny, and then some.Pro-Tip: I would recommend using the foam cutter outside since it does let out a bit of smoke.

Stopped working after 2 uses - UPDATED
This thing worked great... until it didn't. It stopped working the second time using it after 10 minutes. It just turned off and never was able to turn back on again. Too bad, because it cut the foam well while it was working. The window to return has passed, so now I'm stuck with this thing. Avoid if possible and research better quality cutters.UPDATE: After posting my negative review, GOCHANGE reached out, apologized for the bad experience, and replaced the defective AC adapter at no charge. I tried it out and it seems to be working again. Thank you for making things right!

Excellent product for cutting styrofoam.
Looking for a tool to cut through foam quickly, easily and mess-free? This is tge product for you! After using this product for only an hour, I'm ready to give it 10 out of 5 stars.I make insulated beds for the stray cats that stay on my property out of styrofoam coolers, so they have a place to sleep and stay warm in the winter. I used to use a utility knife to cut the foam and it got the job done, but it left a mess to clean up after. Not sure why it took me so long to look into a specific tool to use for this job, but I found it with the GOCHANGE Foam Cutter. This foam cutter gets the job I need done in a fraction of the time it took to cut with a utility knife, with zero mess to clean up afterwards! You get three types of cutting tools - two thicker pen-type cutters (short and long) and a bow that uses much thinner wire as the pens, with a spool of extra wire you can use to replace as needed. Simply choose your cutter, snap it into the handle, switch the tool on, wait 10 seconds or less for the pen or wire to heat up, and start cutting. The tool heats up the styrofoam as you move the tool through it effortlessly, no small bits of foam are left behind, and the cut surface is smooth and clean. It's really that simple! The hardest part of using this tool is having a steady hand to make accurate, straight cuts, but that is not a fault of the tool at all! I really wish I would have thought to look for something like this sooner. I purchased this at retail for $30 (at the time of this writing it is 10% off), and it was well worth the price for the convenience, ease-of-use and all the parts included with the kit.Another convenient use for this product I found - if you have foam that has been cut and left a rough edge that continues to shed pieces of foam, you can use this tool to "cauterize" the area - either shave a little bit of the jagged edge off or use the tool to burn the area, and it will stop the shedding of loose pieces of foam.Another reviewer mentioned about fumes given off from the heat and I will agree that this should be used in a well-ventilated area, even wearing a face mask to prevent breathing in any fumes is a good idea. Really the only time I encountered the tool giving off any kind of fumes is when it is turned on and heats up, if there is any kind of residue left on the pen or wire from previous use. The manual says to wipe the tool off with a wet sponge after it has been turned off and cooled down to remove any blackened burnt-on foam; I found this method to be completely ineffective, as once you turn the tool off and it cools down any material burnt on the tool it will not come off easily once it has cooled. I used a dampened paper towel to quickly wipe the tool while it is still on - this was much more effective. If you are going to do this, make sure you use enough paper towel so that you will not burn your fingers, and make sure it is damp!

Electric Foam Cutter
I had this foam cutter for a while and never used it. And today I used it to cut a thin piece of foam for the first time. And it died after one use. So disappointing. I would not recommend buying this item.

Did great!
I removed the paper backing from the foam board before i stick the vinyl and i used the wire cutter. It was good. Heats up instantly no waiting time so be careful!!! Had a tiny bit of resistance because theres still paper at the back of the foam board. So i did what one of the reviewer said to remove the paper, so i did. It sure cuts like butter but you will need a very steady hand if u dont want the cut to be crooked! So i switched to the shorter wand and i did better on that one. I just set the foam board at the edge of the counter and steadied my hand. I think i did ok but i need plenty of practice. Wear a mask, the smoke coming from the board wasn't too pleasant. Maybe use a fan to prevent u from inhaling it. 🤣

Kinda works
This item is much smaller than it looks to me online. The wire doesn't get hot enough to actual do anything to the foam. The wands work but it is a really slow process. Probably a good thing though as any hotter and it would be hard to make it follow a pattern as the product demo video shows. Wands do work as advertised.
