How many kids would 1 set cater for ? Ie if you were doing a slime party for 7 kids would 1 kit be enough ?

I think it would but I would also buy extra glue activator and maybe some shaving foam.

Does the original size come with more glue than the new size?

Not sure but there is plenty for what's needed

Would this be OK for a 12 year old boy?

If he loves slime I would say yes. My daughters loved it and my 14 year old son played with it also.
