Exceptional Quality
I have just received the suit, and first glance, I am very impressed with the quality. I am a larger guy (6'1" 260lbs), so even the 2XL is a little tight on me specifically in the chest and thighs. But it isn't worth sending back just yet. I will be taking a 3000 mile cross country trip next week to really grasp the road-worthiness of this suit, crossing over the continental divide in the Rocky Mountains.....It will be a cold trip, but should be a true testament to how well this suit really performs. Once I complete my trip, I will include a more detailed review and include pictures. But as I first stated, initial impression is very good. Before receiving this suit, I was very skeptical about making this adventure voyage, now I have a slight confidence that it is going to be an amazing trip.......***UPDATE***So here we are 5 weeks later, over 4000 miles travelled through high winds, blistering cold, snow, rain, sleet, ice, mag-chloride, salt, mud and many looks of bewilderment from passerby's. I was able to travel the deserts of Arizona, portions of the Grand Canyon, the wonderful national parks of southern Utah up through Moab. I ventured western Colorado and the land of many uses, over the continental divide (six times over using I-70, Highway 50, 24, and 9 and the 10). I saw the land of enchantment, and followed Route 66 along the Rio Grande. After finally feeling exhausted, I then finished my journey back into southern Arizona along the 10. The suit only required a wash twice, both times were after encountering severe traffic that was flinging magnesium chloride saturated slush while traveling down I-70 after a big snow. I was able to scrub out the mud from the white fabric pretty easily with a mild detergent and a soft bristle brush. I followed that up with a drop in the washer and then allowed to air dry for about 12 hours. The durability has proven to be second to none. Only a few loose threads here and there, but nothing to be concerned about. The comfort is much better than I expected. Anyone who has spent over 10 hours straight on a bike can tell you, even the smallest slight of discomfort can drive you crazy. As I mentioned earlier on, this suit rides tight on me, but I am a large guy. I only wore a silk layer under the suit the entire ride in order to maintain a comfort and not be too tight. The suit worked great down to temperatures ranging around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. When it dropped below that, I really started to feel it. Especially down in the single digits. Now after you calculate in the wind chill, the actual temperatures were more like -30 to -60. I consider myself a pretty tough guy who runs a little warm, so the temps didn't bother me too much. Long story short, the suit worked great, especially at blocking the winds. I was never in a position to take out the liners, they were needed the entire trip. I wouldn't ride in weather much colder than 30 degrees for a long period of time though, but I suppose that should go without saying. So after all my adventure, I am proud to say that the Geppe Templar Adventure suit far exceeded my expectations and is a must have for any adventure motorcyclist who is serious about their gear.
