Yes，the neck flap of this outdoor fishing flap hat is removable.

Q: The hat part says its spf 50 but what is the uv rating of the neck flaps? they are perforated, doesn't that make them less uv protective?

Yes, really stupid Why claim the spf and still let sun shine thru. Deceptive advertising claim. I would not buy this hat again

That’s the reason I got mine and it seems work fine. It definitely protects my neck from sun burn.

Q: Does the actual back of the neck mesh cover to connect to protect the back of the head where the cap arches at the back (some pics are different)?

The current version has a neck flap that is attached above the adjustment buckle. It covers the adjustment buckle to protect the back of your head from sunburn.
