What can I say arrived 19 hours after I bought it went on easy done the job it’s needed to stop my 9 year old daughter thinking it’s acceptable to climb out her bedroom window and breaking her neck, first option was handcuffs to the bed but this option works just as good I shall keep the handcuffs for the misses 5 stars.

Safe and strong for bottom opening windows.
This an excellent lock. I have a bottom opening window which the kids finally learned to open somehow. But it was becoming impossible to sit in this room in the summer without it being really stuffy so I bought one of these window locks. It doesn’t come with instructions but it’s quite straightforward and I came back to look at the pictures on amazon for this item to see which part goes where. The screws were so easy to screw into the UPVC that I didn’t need a drill. I just used my electric screwdriver and that did the trick. I now have a safe window I can open in the summer that the kids can’t open more than the window lock allows. It’s also value for money compared to what you’d find in the shops.

** Updated** Excellent DIY choice, works a treat, easy to fit and seem strong enough to last.
Really easy to fit for even the novice DIY'er to secure your windows for your children etc. They only let your window open enough to get a fist through there so not much hope for a baby to get through there, this was my main worry but it's a good length of wire so you get a good amount of air flow vs children being able to squeeze out.The key seems to be a bog standard affair and you should be able to source a spare should you lose your keys. They seem strong so you won't be buying many more because you won't break them. The only draw back is the screws supplied seem to be too small for my liking, so i just swapped them over for some of my own with an extra 1/4" on the end for that extra security.**Update 16/03/2017**I've ordered another one and it was delivered yesterday. Really good quality restrictors, no problems with them at all. The real test will be for this one, as i'm going to be installing this on the bathroom window, so there will be very high humidity to test how they handle water/condensation.

Perfect to ensure cat & child safety
Easy to fit! As per photo - it allows fresh air in but keeps my cat from getting on. I had to stagger where it secures to ensure that there was not too big an exit gap. A drill and a screwdriver were all that were needed. Will be installing these in the children’s rooms next. Highly recommend.

A must
I initially got a pack of 4 just to be sure they were right. They were and now I have them on every window in the house. With two young children, these give me so much peace of mind, not just for keeping the kids safely in; but also keeping people out!My husband fitted them and he’s a fab hand with DIY and didn’t have any problems. One key fits all and you get a key for each latch so that’s a plus. Once fitted, they are really strong. My main recommendation for fitting these is to put them at the base of your windows, purely because they are less noticeable and if you have blinds, they are less likely to get in the way.

Excellent after market solution to restricting the windows.
Yes these are brilliant, they are just short enough to stop my 3 year old toddler from squeezing her head through the window when it's open, so we can now leave the window open more than just the one notch which doesn't really do the job. Now you can leave it open properly with a nice breeze able to flow through the open gap in my case the gap is about 4 inches, so plenty of room for some good air flow. They are really easy to fit, i got a small drill bit where i pilot holed where the screws were to go in, then used a combi drill to screw in the supplied screws straight into the UPVC frame and it all seems very secure so won't be going anywhere any time soon. Just remember to thread the covers on before you attach them as you'll have to undo the screws and start again if you don't! In total to fit one restrictor it took me four minutes, so it's a very rapid solution to stopping your toddler from falling out of your windows. Obviously not as good as the manufacturers child proof locks/restrictors but these are a very good after market fitment. With the added benefit of having a key lock so you can open the windows fully when the children aren't around.

It works.....
I'm renting a bungalow for the first time and I have to say sleeping on the ground floor with a window open is very - shall we say - unsettling. And with the heat wave....🙄 So I purchased these and have to say an very happy! I'm well aware they are not a anti theft device but they certainly are a deterrent and allow a cooling breeze👍

Excellent, the only thing I would day is it could do with a set of dummy instructions. I accidentally pushed one of the cover caps on the end and then had to lever it off with a screwdriver (cracking it in the process) so I could put the screws in and attach it to the window. Could be me being silly but may be useful
