Q: Is this sunscreen reef safe?

It does not have the 2 biggest pollutants, but does have one "lesser" pollutant, octocrylene. This sunscreen is on the list for one of the better sunscreens for the reef. Not the best but better than most.

Q: What is the smell like? Is it coconutty? I hate coconut smell.

The expiration date is imprinted on the cap near the hinge. Locate it by swiping a finger near the hinge to feel/locate it. It's a bit difficult to see/read.

Q: Why are there still chemicals in it? Zinc oxide & titanium dioxide is all that's needed?

Those are the active ingredients in mineral based sunscreens.
