Back to health - The natural way
Having spent the last 2 years in and out of doctors, suffering with tiredness and muscle weakness with no resolution from said doctors, i was on the point of giving up on everything when i began to realise that even eating food was making me unwell. Not any one specific food or food groups though, all foods. As a measure of last resort i decided to put myself on a back to basics diet. No processed foods, no sugar, just single ingredient foods and though researching the health benefits of various foods from around the world, i chanced upon this miracle product. It has been a game changer for me and it has given me my life back. I can make plans again. I can have hopes and dreams again. I can just do things without worrying about how many days it will take to recover and it's all down to a few grams of Kefir. No it has not turned me into superman but it did have me thinking it when i started taking this such was the effect it has had.I will say that what you have delivered wont seem like much at first but place it in a fermentation Jar and just feed it milk every other day and the magic will start to happen. It wont taste great and my advice would be to just pour away the strained fekir for a couple of weeks while it gets up to speed unless you have a strong disposition. The taste will improve but it is an acquired taste rather than an enjoyable one but with its incredible benefits it is so definitely worth it. It does "something" in your gut. I don't really know what it does but it does good things down there. I am no longer tired and my muscle strength is returning. What it is doing down there is nothing short of a miracle for me.Dont bother buying the shop branded fekir yogurt as there is so little fekir in them. Buy this one, make it yourself and save yourself some money as well as its health benefits it gives. If you're reading this and my story seems familiar to you, then try this out. Maybe it will benefit others as much as it has done for me. Couldn't rate this product any higher.

Brilliant! Fast growing Kefir.
Had this for about 3 weeks now and already had to separate and store 2 tablespoons worth of grains in the freezer. Meanwhile I still have 2.5 tablespoons working in the jar of milk. When the grains arrived they looked like tiny biscuit crumbs and so minimal that I couldn't believe it would culture anything but after only a couple of cycles, it was in full swing. Now they are larger and starting to look like rice pudding. I look forward to when they look like cauliflower!!They're working well, fermenting milk into kefir every 24 hours (or less) been leaving it on the kitchen counter only and sometimes even in the fridge for part of the time. I've even had to give them a break 3 times already because we just couldn't keep up with drinking the amount of kefir they were producing! Since receiving these grains, even while giving the grains a break, we've been drinking about 600-700ml per day of kefir. They're so abundant and efficient our problem is trying to slow them down!We use organic whole milk with them. It's so creamy and thick that we're hardly using yoghurt anymore. So now we are saving money from purchasing kefir and yoghurt! We just have to buy milk! Really happy with this purchase. They are the gift that keeps on giving.

Busy with the fizzy.
I had no idea what to expect. I have never seen or tasted kefir, but I assumed I would like it, both in the production and the consumption! It arrived promptly, in a plastic pouch the size of a teabag. The contents looks a bit like the bits left in the bottom of an empty cottage cheese carton. The first batch was unremarkable, but, by the third one it was going great guns. I am using whole Cravendale mostly, but the Soya batches have been the most impressive, as they are very effervescent and have a flavour very reminiscent of the smell of rye sourdough culture. They are also thicker in texture. The solid bits have multiplied a lot, and are apparent within a very few hours of every day's brew, floating on the surface of the milk. I have been making yogurt for many years, but I think I prefer this for flavour.

Takes a few days to "wake up"
The Kefir is easy to use, although you do need to make sure you have a jar, muslin, plastic sieve and plastic spoon; all the recommendations is that you should never use metal. It takes a couple of days for the Kefir to work and I would recommend that for the first couple of goes you find some where warn, like an airing cupboard. It is as though it needs to be woken up with a bit of heat. After that if work very well with temperatures down to 19C.Kefir has a very distinct taste, not the same as the ones you get from the shops. I found that using it at the lower temperatures 19-20C, and leaving it for 2 days gives a bit of a more mellow flavour.

Would not work.
As soon as I received the grains in the post, I put straight into the fridge as I wasn't able to start my batch straight away. 1 day later, I removed grains from fridge for a few hours to reach room temperature. Placed into a clean Kilner jar covered and left on the worktop. After 48 hours it appeared to be working, seperation taking place and clumping on the surface. However, it had a very strong yeast odour. I closed the lid and turned jar upside down once, when I released the lid it exploded everywhere. OK, take two. I rinsed the grains with milk, used a new clean Kilner jar and started again, covered and left on the work top. Slight clumping on the surface after 24 hours, still very strong yeast smell, still very liquid. Washed it all down the drain. No contact details for seller so hopefully the may respond to this review. Thanks.
