Since my original post, the manufacturer has sent me a new replacement cam, and, it works as advertised. I am quite pleased with their customer service, who immediately contacted me about some of the "cons" I had in my original post. So far the new unit works perfectly and I have no issues with it. I have no trouble recommending this product to others.Original Post:The mounting of the cam and view is fine, fairly easy to install. I've installed a lot of electronics in our work trucks, so running the cabling in the liner and trim was ok. Needed to install a separate circuit for the power, since I wanted it to turn on and off with the ignition. To download video from the unit, you need to remove it and hook it up to your computer to download the .mov files. Images are very clear and the quality of the video is excellent.However there are some downsides: (1)The recording function does not always come on when you turn on the ignition, sometime you have to manually turn it on. (2) Unable to find the "looping" feature so that old video is written over. (3) the date and time reverts to Dec 31st 2017 for no reason. (4) The software and the AV in port suggests that you can add a rear view cam to the system. The software has F and R file folders, but according to the seller, you cannot add a rear view cam to the system.

Very nice and a multifunctional dash cam. It is small and compact so it doesn’t get in the way. Before I bought it I was concerned that it might block my sight or distract me, but after I installed it, I found that it is so hidden that I wouldn't even notice it while driving. Plus, it’s super easy to set up and install it. It came with many attachments to attach to the window or your dashboard to keep the charging cable hidden from the view. I was so glad that this charging cable can be hidden nicely and won't affect the appearance of my car. The picture resolution is perfect for the price, much better than the first one I bought from a retail store. Since I installed it, serval friends of mine have asked me where to get this. Would definitely recommend to any car owner who wants to protect their car and themselves.

I had this dash cam for a couple of weeks and was very happy with it. Very easy to set up. Two days ago it started shutting off on me due to low or dead battery. I unplugged the Onboard charger adapter (powered by 12V car cigarette lighter) and plugged it back in cam starts up for a min then dies. When I first got the dash cam there was a light on the charger when plugged in, now there is no light on the plug when I plug it back in. I put it in a different cigarette lighter adapter in my truck and it works. I tried putting the Onboard charger adapter powered by 12V car cigarette lighter in and it still won't work. I'm thinking that the charger is a fluke since I have not seen anything else about this issue in the reviews. I am ordering another cam for my daughter since I like this one and will make an effort to repair my Onboard charger adapter powered by 12V car cigarette lighter or try and find a simillar charger.

The media could not be loaded. Good dash cam. Easy to use, just stick the pedestal on the top of the windshield and put the cam on it. It won't block the view at all since it's behind the Rear-view mirror from my sight. I haven't arrange the wire, just hang it down because it's not bothering. The system is also good. Simple and clear, but I've got everything I need. The video it shoots is clear.Actually my cam did the trick just a week after I've installed it. A part dropped from a U-haul and hit my car. The cam caught the whole process and the image quality was enough to recognize the plate, which helped a lot when I called the police later.

Once again, we run across more cheap Chinese junk being sold on Amazon. Three months after receiving the camera, the power cord stopped working. No big deal, since I then tied it into the vehicle's electrical system with a hard-wired power supply. This morning (9 months after purchase), after a -9F night, I noticed the camera would not turn on. After numerous reset attempts, I found that the programmed settings were not being saved after power-off cycles. Apparently, the batteries or capacitors don't last long or are killed by extremely cold weather. One more for the scrap heap.Upon initial programming/set-up after I first received it, I found that the up/down/forward markings do not match the actual buttons. It took awhile to figure this out, but it was a PITA. I almost returned it, which I now wish I had done.

We bought two. One works fine, it is in my car which shuts off the juice to the lighter when the car is off. The second one had to be replaced, but the company did a replacement without fuss. The van does not shut off the juice to the cigarette lighter when it is off and we are not sure if the camera shuts off or not, though it does stop recording after a few seconds. These have a decent picture. However, they are not user friendly, the 'menu' is not easy to figure out, the settings are confusing, and all in all we don't use any features except the camera. It was not easy to figure out how to set the date and time. The warning when a car is close feature is so annoying we don't use it. Still, the videos are sufficient and of decent quality even at night.

Really pleased with the dash cam. Great quality item with some excellent features for the price. Set up is straight forward. Recordings are in 3min - 10min segments. The events video starts recording from 50seconds before, so it can capture an emergency or crash etc. The camera is very good at recognising details, thanks to Sony CMOS image sensor with Improved Visible Light and Near Infrared Sensitivity that support 1080p. The camera do not requires a constant power supply when in use cause it has build-in battery, you do not need to push any buttons to turn it on or off either, it does so as soon as you turn the key on or off. Excellent value for money, and the quality of the recordings is excelent, I wasn't expecting the quality to be as good as it is for the money.Cons: SD card is not included.

Wrote this review one week after I recieved the package. It's very easy to install, you can do it yourself in only 10 minutes. The night vision is quite surprising, it can record with limited source of light and you can basically see everything you need to see through the display. Even when you park your car at public parking lot it can switch to battery power and keep working.

Originally when I bought and installed it it worked great but now we are 10 months in and every now and then the camera will freeze or the screen will go white and there is absolutely no way to fix it other than to restart it.Not sure if it is defective or just a crappy product but I am very dissatisfied with it.

Good quality but the battery does not last more than 3-4 minutes. Also in extreme cold (like -25 degrees celcius) the camera might not work until the car is little warmer. Other than that everything works well.

This is my first Dash-Cam so I'm new to this.LIKES- Many usable features.- Reasonably good low-light recording.- The slightly smaller 150-degree field of this camera shows a little less of the sky and hood than the more common 170-degree field cams.- Once mounted the camera lens direction can be adjusted up/down and left-right.- Cam comes with a correctly angled mini-USB connection for a better camera installation.- The camera attachment to the windshield was easy, it securely holds the camera and it's pretty easy to remove the camera from the mount.- The camera operation is silent and the screen can be turned off to avoid driver distraction.- It will also record interior audio. If desired the mic can be disabled.- The cam has an attractive black low profile appearance.- The daytime image is of good color, though a little muted.- The camera's ports are all labeled.DISLIKES- Nowhere in the product's sale page does it mention that it requires a micro-SD card. Not knowing that I bought a standard sized 128Gb card. Now I have an SD card I don't really need.- My camera arrived without it packed in a plastic bag and the lens without any protection. Also, the box opening is not secured causing me to almost drop the camera simply by picking up the box the very first time.- The instruction manual's layout could be better. The font is much too small. I need a magnifying glass to read it.- The cam's HDR setting should improve the darks and lights when shooting. It does not. Instead it adds a little more noise to night-time shooting without any improvement. I'm leaving it “off”. Shooting without HDR is fine.MISC NOTES- I measured the camera's operating current. When it's not charging its internal battery it consumes 0.25Ah to 0.48Ah depending on its operating mode.- The camera comes with a power plug to fit a vehicle's power receptacle. However, the length of the plug itself was too long for my receptacle such that I could not use it. Further, my car (a 2017 Mazda 3) wires its power receptacle as “always on”. As such, the provided power plug can not be used in such vehicles.- Though the night-time image is bright enough, it's moderately grainy. The daytime image contains very little noise.- As expected, and perhaps like most dash-cams, the picture quality is not to the same quality as a DSLR that's shot using the same 1920x1080 pixel setting. Reading license plates is possible but only within say 8-9m.Overall I like the camera.
