easy to use, hamster loved it
great little UFO for your hamster, take apart to clean (which happens a lot as they tend to live in the pipes) very stiff so no way of hamster getting out!

Hamster took to it immediately!
I added the Lab after seeing how the Hamster loved it's tubes, and had started to sleep in them, despite having a coconut shell house to sleep in.She took to it instantly, sleeping in the top half and initially using the bottom half as a larder for food.In recent weeks the hamster has been using the bottom part as a toilet so we've been having to clean it out more frequently, but this routes keep the rest of the cage cleaner. We were concerned about how ready the lid comes off but she found that tapping some bedding fluff in it gives it a bit low friction and makes it an tighter fit.So far, no escaping from the hamster

Good but could be better
I dont get the lab name but this is a nice addition to our cage and our Gerbils love spending time in it. We put sellotape on the outside of the lid to stop them turning and removing it after reading other reviews where animals escaped. That seems to work. It's a bit of effort to remove and wash but so are the other Furplast tubes. It has two levels and the gerbils spend most of the time on the lower level and theres a reason... which is my next point. My biggest issue with it is the internal white plastic insert that separates the 2 levels is made of a soft plastic that is easily chewed and they do enjoy chewing it even from the moment they first went in. It has a moulded center section that holds it up and after the 1 week that we've had it, I would say it has about 8-12 weeks before they chew right through this section when the insert will then drop and block the tube entrances. It will still be usable by removing the inner piece but just as one open space not two levels. I took this photo 20 mins after washing it...This should be made of the same plastic as the lab case, hard plastic like the tubes, which Gerbils find harder to chew especially when you consider the price and that will make it last longer. If this was modified it would get more stars but its entertaining so not a terrible product.

This is great but hamster can get out!
I bought this a month ago and my hamster loves it. He has made it into his house and sleeps in it. He also stashes his food in there too. This is easy to clean and quite big for my Syrian hamster. The only problem i have with this is the lid. I have spent over an hour trying to get hampton back in his cage as he had opened the lid. Its very easy to slide the top to open it. Hampton likes to climb and explore quite alot as he has lots of energy. Just keep an eye on the lid.

Beautiful sturdy house
Beautiful extra house that fits well with all Ferplast tunnels. However, my hamster doesn’t like it much and I never see him going there therefore 4*. Otherwise, it’s a good and seems sturdy product.

DANGEROUS - PLEASE READ
On first install these pods looked great. But after a couple of weeks of our new hamster living in her new home we awoke one day to find the lid of the pod removed and our hamster was found dead in the garden - got to by the cats. We couldn't believe it. The cats were always shut out of the bedroom where the hamster cages are and we always ensure everything is secure so how could she have escaped? A few weeks later we had a new hamster and at first I decided not to use the pods as we couldn't let our boys go through the heartache of another lost hamster. After looking at the pods over the next week or two I decided to reinstall the pods but inserted the twist lid with the locking tangs past the stop posts. This means that no matter if the lid is turned it cannot be removed as it will not move up.So 30 mins into installing the modified pods our new hamster enlightened us to how the first accident had happened. She stood on the platform pushing on the lid and twisting it one way then the other whilst pushing up. If the lid had been installed as it is supposed to be it would have come off and the hamster would have been free! This is such a bad design and it makes me wonder how many hamsters have tragically been lost because of it. I rarely leave reviews but felt I had to warn other hamster owners to the dangers of the pods. If you are willing to install the lids permanently these pods are fine but PLEASE do not trust that your hamster won't escape if they are left as original design.

Fiddly to build but sturdy and hamsters love it!
Our little dwarfies love this ‘lab’. I filled the bottom half with sawdust and they dragged some of their bedding up the tubes from their house to make the lab a second home! It’s quite difficult to get the yellow rings off in order to take the lab apart to clean it, but once off it’s easy to dismantle and clean.

Hamster loves it.
The hamster loves this. It was bought for my daughter for Christmas along with a few tubes to make a path from the cage to this. She had it assembled in a few minutes though initially did it wrong so check it. Once connected the hamster found it quickly and has been in it loads. It doesn't do anything but she brings food and bedding in and makes herself comfortable.I have dropped it one star because it is sturdy but because of that it's hard to take apart to clean out. Since this needs doing regularly I'm worried I'll either break it or the connections will become loose. If the bottom had a take out piece like the top it would all be much easier.
