Exceeded expectations in every way. Excellent value.
The outsized sound is booming and crisp. It has the versatility to go anywhere and play on anything, including my home TV and speakers, and the battery lasts forever. The performer can face the audience using the portable screen while friends can watch the performance and the lyrics on the TV.The controls are intuitive and it is easy to get started out of the box, and I keep finding nice features I never thought of. I love the design, like how the microphones pop in and disappear and are always charged. Excellent, thoughtful design all around and top-shelf quality. It can do anything: It is a modified Android with a simple Karaoke interface featuring large, simple app selections, but there are plenty of options if you want to get nerdy. Our favorite app is KaraFun, which has a 6 month subscription included and better subscription options if you subscribe on the device (totally worth it!). The app displays a small QR code so people can pull out their camera, scan, and a browser pulls up a web app on their phones so everyone can easily add songs to the playlist. It’s dummy and alcohol proof! There is even a cool voice match that checks your range and matches your voice to compatible songs that works perfectly. It also has a browser, so it’s also a great portable TV and much more.I tried the Costco machines and was tempted to get a cheaper, higher rated machine but they are no match for the value. I am very happy I paid a little extra for far better quality and an easier, more immersive experience.I have been trying to figure out why there are so many cheap items with higher reviews. The only explanation I can think of is that reviewers of budget alternatives don’t know what they’re missing. They are not even close to the sound, quality, or design of the X1.

Great Karoke Machine for Home
I bought this based on other reviews and pricing. My wife and I wanted to add more entertainment to our lounge and felt this would be a good solution. We weren't wrong. This machine is plenty loud, and with the KaraFun subscription, you get a TON of songs to choose from. The wireless mics are super easy to set up, sound great, and have really good range. The sound from the machine is nice and the ability to connect it to the TV via HDMI really makes this a great machine for the lounge. Audio still comes from the machine, but being able to see the lyrics on the TV is a huge plus. Additionally, with the KaraFun app, participants can scan the QR code and queue songs from their phones, making the need to mess with the machine after set up unnecessary. Of course, the machine is small enough to be mobile, so if you wanted to take it with you to a party, you can do that as well. Overall, this is an excellent machine that was worth the cost.

A great sounding and well-designed portable speaker / karaoke system
First (and most importantly) the sound is fantastic. The bass sounds good both with the bass boost on and off. Had a chance to test it outdoors while doing a little work on my car yesterday (a bit too cold here to be at a beach or park right now) and it sounded great and was easily loud enough to overcome the sounds of the engine and a tire inflator even tho I had it 10-12 feet away from the back of the car (so another 14-15 feet to the front of the car). The speaker itself feels very solidly constructed and looks quite nice. I like the cutout handles on each end as well as the shoulder strap. The strap itself is not padded, but the attachment is quite nice, and the unit isn't really heavy enough that a padded strap is needed. There is also a standard 35mm (1-3/8") speaker stand mounting hole (like you'd find in most PA speakers) in case you wanted to elevate it on a stand. When the tablet is closed, the design is very clean with only the controls that matter for listening to music shown (buttons for power, bass boost, input, and bluetooth, with rollers to adjust volume and lighting). The built-in 13.3" tablet is a pretty basic and runs a version of Android 13, but is quite functional as the tilt/swivel mount allows it to be positioned easily, and it is nice that it can flip and fold down over the top of the unit for transport or when just using it as a bluetooth speaker. There are a few apps and shortcuts pre-installed on the tablet, including a media player for local files, Spotify, YouTube, a couple of karaoke apps, and a few other things. (No Netflix pre-installed on my unit, but you can easily download/install from an appstore if you wanted to.)The microphones are conveniently rechargeable and fit nicely into their storage/charging ports under the folded down tablet (instead of sticking out or attaching to the side as on most other portable karaoke machines). The microphones are mostly plastic and fairly light, but they sound good and don't have too much handling noise. The microphone charging ports and controls for the microphone modes are the only things found beneath the tablet. It is nice that there are knobs for manually selecting the amount of reverb and to adjust bass and treble, as well as a button to turn on "ducking" (which is useful when using the unit as a PA system for music and announcements)If you need more than 2 microphones, there are two 1/4 inch microphone (or guitar) inputs under a rubber cover in the back. They worked fine with either a 1/4" wireless microphone receiver (mine supports 2 wireless microphones, so that would allow 4 singers) or a standard microphone with an xlr-1/4" cable. Other ports beneath this cover include one HDMI, one USB-A, a microSD card slot, an 1/8" stereo input, and an 1/8" headphone output. The media player can play audio and video files from both the USB and the microSD (as well as from internal storage). The smaller rubber cover just contains the ac power connection -- which is conveniently just a standard "figure-8" power cord. I am also very pleased with the runtime on the built-in battery. After using it as a bluetooth speaker outside for a couple hours (while working on my car), I figured I'd see how good the battery life was, so kept playing music (via bluetooth) while making and eating lunch, then tested/played with the various features and settings and installing software for a couple more hours, then did a bit of karaoke and mic testing, streamed music directly off the tablet while making and eating dinner, connected the unit to a 4K tv and then decided to test playback of music and videos from microSD and USB storage, and ended up watching a movie that was on the USB flash drive (totally legit copy of the movie, since the digital copy was a dono reward from my friend's kickstarter for the movie). All in all it was probably about 10hrs of actual runtime (within 11.5-12hrs of actual time) running completely on battery before the 20% remaining low battery warning popped upOverall, I think the Ikarao has done a great job of choosing the features and design of the Break X1, and this unit would be an excellent choice for anyone needing a portable party speaker as well as someone looking for an all-in-one karaoke system (or even a small battery-powered PA system). Even if I were being super picky, the only thing I could really nitpick is that the knobs for the manual mic adjustment (reverb, treble, bass) are "backwards" (turn to the left to increase, right to decrease). Also, I wish they could've used combo XLR+1/4" jacks for the microphone/guitar inputs -- mainly cuz I have plenty of XLR microphone cables, but only a couple of XLR-1/4" cables, so it took awhile to locate them when I was testing -- not sure there's room in the current location for combo jacks tho (maybe just 1 combo jack could fit?). Reality is this is probably a fairly niche feature for most people tho since most will just use the included wireless mics and most of the few that would add a mic could use a mic with a 1/4 plug.tl;dr: if you're thinking about it, just go ahead and get it -- two thumbs up!
