Kids Swim Vest

Perfect for our 2 year old! Great value.

My 3 year old daughter swear she can swim, but she can't. Since she loves the water, she needs a swim vest. This vest is better that floaties because the vest goes around your child's chest to keep their upper body afloat until an adult can get to them. This also helps to keep the floaties from slipping off in the water. The bright colors help to keep your child visible in bodies of water. The adjustable strap to the vest is very adjustable so this can be used for several summers, not just one. This floatie vest gives me more confidence to take my toddler to a pool/lake to play in the water.

First of all, I like that there were a couple of cute designs to pick from. The first battle with any kind of safety device is getting your kid to wear it, and fun patterns and designs really help with that. Just slip their arms into the loop, buckle the strap around their back, and pull the cord tight and you are good to go. The buckle is also nicely designed to take 3 points of pressure to open, making it harder for the vest to accidentally come off in use.My daughter is 6 and loves playing in the pool with her older brother and their friends, but she is not as strong a swimmer and she wanted something to help her float in deeper water. This is great for her to play in. She is able to move around pretty well and it keeps her head out of the water reliably, even in deeper water. She is able to kick pretty well with it on, but she can't really put her face in and get her body horizontal to swim well. So this will help young kids be safer in the water, but it is actually getting in the way of them learning to swim. Something to keep in mind as you use this kind of thing with your kids.

This folds up neatly into a sort of large tootsie roll, which is nice. It works as a floatation device, which is also nice. and even better, it fits my really small 3.5 year old. I think you'll still need parental supervision with this (although pretty much everything does unless they're swimming like a fish) but it definitely seems like a safer option than something like...a pool noodle. The really big life jacket types are too big and bulky IMO and won't help them learn to swim because of how restrictive the movement is.This is pretty good, but also slightly restrictive. They'll learn how to kick really well though with this. I wouldn't recommend leaving this in bright sunshine for too long or anything like that to keep it fresh longer.Overall, does what it says it does. Seems pretty safe, but I'd still keep a really careful eye on kids. They have a knack of doing exactly the wrong combination of things to get themselves injured. This one seems like it'd be harder for that to happen. 5 stars!

We live on a lake and have lots of kids over. We bought this as an extra life jacket for guests. We have another that is this style but it is a puddle jumper. That brand is actually certified as a life jacket. This has the same style and look but does not appear to be certified as an actual life jacket. It seems like it would be good as a flotation aid in the pool but note it is not certified as an actual life jacket by the Coast Gaurd.This is for a 20 - 50 pound kiddo. It is a very cute design. The nylon cover doesn’t seem quite as soft of a fabric as our other one either. For the same price I would buy the Coast Guard certified option next time.

Anyone with kids or a pool know that these swim vests are the best for parents and kids. The kids can learn to swim independently and parents don't have to hold on to the kids in the pool. Kids are safe in these, they keep their faces out of the water. They are a wonderful comfortable design.

Excellent swim vest that works and looks great! The cartoon starfish really is a beautiful design that sticks out. It works well and fit my toddler perfectly. I like that the vest is secured by a clasp lock that has a child lock so it won't accidently open. I wish the swim vest had a part that went over the shoulder also but it still works great and would definitely recommend it.

This works better than a life jacket for kids learning how to swim. Life jackets help people stay afloat by putting them on their back and keeping their face out of the water, and this floaty helps keep their head above water but allows them to be more agile while swimming and learn the basics of swimming faster. This was a great bridge for combining swimming lessons with weekends at the pool. I wouldn’t use this for boating because it’s not meant as a life vest. Kids love to wear these anytime we get in the pool!
