EDIT: Year two of using these and I’m still in love with them. I have 3 different ones now. They’ve held up so well to many ski trips and they keep my sensitive ears warm and protected. I just wash them on cold and hang dry them to ensure they stay in good shape.First time using a blackstrap balaclava and I absolutely love it. The material feels so high quality and nice. It fits really nicely on my head (I wear a size large ski helmet.) I love how easily you can pull the mouth piece up and down, it’s great for Covid too as the mouth part has a double layer. The mouth part has a meshy type layer on the inside which really helps keep it from sticking to your face when it gets all moist from your breath. It kept the cold wind off my face really nicely. Great for day and evening skiing. If I was gonna go night skiing on a really cold night I might get the thicker version of this for extra warmth. This regular thickness one still kept me warm too tho. I’m definitely going to eventually buy a couple of these in different colors. Really worth the price and I love all the awesome colors and patterns.

Breathable comfortable and warm

I bought this for skiing and it did not disappoint. As any face masks, by the end of the day it is moist but it works great, it’s light weight yet very warm and keeps wind burn away. I love the fact that you can pull it down below your nose and put it back up without having to adjust your helmet. Maybe a little pricey compared to other masks on the market, but it is definitely a great mask!

Most of the reviews are related to skiing or coldness weather activities. I bought this to take for lobster mini season in Key West this year (July 2018). Aside from everyone on the boat constantly referring to me as a ninja this product is high quality. In between dives I just popped it on and didn’t have to lather up with sun block constantly. 5 days on the water non stop in and out of the water constantly I needed real sun protection. This hood fits really well, blocks the sun, breathes very well (never felt too hot or smothered), works well with sunglasses for full face, eye and neck protection. Cannot say enough good things about this. I just machine washed it gentle on cold and dried it and it’s like new. Great item in both form and function.

This balaclava is versatile, smartly designed, and generous in its proportions. Fits my big head, and it has a long neck that keeps my neck warm, as the balaclava stays securely underneath my jacket. It surprised me the first few times I rode with it, because it really kept my head warm.I like the option of either having my entire face, except for my eyes, covered, or just my mouth, or the third option, underneath my chin.

I wore this for snowmobiling. they are breathable, but it definitely fogged my glasses and goggles. It was very compatible while wearing a helmet and I felt like my face and neck were warmer with it on, even though this was not fleece. Overall I do believe it is a tad over-priced, but I get it. I would use this as a gaiter, but it does not stay on my face while covering my nose, unless I have my hair in a high ponytail since the hair will get in the way of it staying in place. I found that it was a little big for me, but it was definitely comfortable. I think this is great for people who are in the sun alot or require the use of a helmet often. It seemed durable and the prints are pretty neat.

Bought for a hiking trip and worked well for the wind. Also figured out how to make it into a beanie. Love the colors and design.

This is just what I needed - I'd been looking for a new face mask for years, and I'm glad I found this one. It helps keep me covered and warm but is also breathable and easily adjustable.

My head circumference is 20.5 inches, wirhin the stated guidelines, and it is too big. I should have ordered a youth size. I did wear it once at 5 C and it was plenty warm enough. And I wore it another time at 2C, over another similar type of one so that it would fit better, and it was fine. And I like the colour which is as advertised.

I've tried out MANY different brands of balaclavas while skiing and BlackStrap is the only brand that will not fog up your goggles. Period.

These balaclavas are made of swimsuit material. I can't believe some people were recommending them for winter. There is zero insulation elements in them, and if you don't use a neck-warmer, you will get cold in it very soon. Having "BS" written on your face is another disadvantage - couldn't they come up with a better label?Other than that, the quality and styles are nice. I am satisfied and will wear it with a neck warmer underneath.I got it for $30 which was acceptable for this balaclava. However, most of them are sold for over $50 on amazon, and they are not worth these money.

Fit well for someone with a large head, on a -29C day was all I needed, kept my head, face and neck warm.
