Introducing Capitalism: A Graphic Guide (Graphic Guides)

These graphic guides helped me to write my dissertation, even though one can't cite these introductory books for an essay at that level, it made the theories easier to understand and enabled finding a citation for quoting easier.

A thoroughly enjoyable romp through the history and concepts of capitalism. The idea of the 'spectacular' I found particularly interesting and I may read more on this. This the second in this series of books that I've read, the first being the introduction to Marxism and I think this dovetails really well with it. To quote Zappa, "So many books, so little time".

A fantastic way of presenting a rather dry subject. While the guide is a bit superficial, it doesn't make political judgements and it beats reading the Economist any day.

Good read.

An easy and approachable guide to the subject , which manages to address with clarity and humour,(The latter most evident in the cartoon illustrations)the nature and history of a very big idea. Well presented concise and easy to read,(in one sitting if pushed!)

Excellent overview - clear explanation of our dominant ideology with a balanced examination of competing criticisms.

Outstanding one. The book lucidly presents the nature of capitalism, how it has been evolved as a political and economic system over a period of time. A must read since we live in a highly capitalist world. You would appreciate the skill of author in explaining the economic, cultural and social consequences of capitalism. A great look into what makes The West the Best! Easy to understand and easily broken down. Very nice.

In the paper version text and illustrations nicely interact, providing a unique approach to a new topic. In the Kindle version the two elements are completely separated, you have to read illustration and text separately.

The book is a collection of capitalist idea from ancient to modern time. There is but one fault : amidst capitalist idea socialist ideas are inserted which becomes a hindrance to understanding the capitalism which is the main theme.This should not be does in an introductory book. It hampers the flow of main idea.Apart from this everything is OK.

Explains the basic concepts and history related to Capitalism very well. Present arguments for and against in a manner that is well formed and easy to understand.

I am loving the graphic illustrations. It gives basic understanding of the philosophy followed. History which came down to bring out the philosophy.

It is presenting boring and seeming ugly subject in interesting manner.Good packaging and delivery by amazon.in

Nice little book. I like this series. This little graphic guides are pretty scholarly. They obviously won't make you an expert on anything, but they are nice for giving orientations / outlines
