Great On The Go Pens
These pens have been great to use with a spiral bound field notes notebook as it fits perfectly in the spiral and has been very good for on the go use. The pen writes very well and I have had no issues using it even with its smaller size. It has stayed in my note pad which I place in my back pocket and it has held up superbly.

Great Pens
Fantastic pens, it writes so well you would think this was a more expensive pen. The free refills are the best part, I will never have to buy another pen again.

Quality in a small package
The two-pack of pens arrived quickly and in rather handsome packaging considering the price. The two extra refills were an unexpected surprise. They write like a more expensive pen and fit anywhere, including my front pants pocket, without any bulkiness. I'm going to buy more to scatter around my house, car, and travel bags, kind of like reading glasses. Who knew I needed these pens?

Perfect Tiny Pen
These pens are the perfect size for a purse or wallet. I clip them to a stack of mini index cards and keep them in my purse. You never know when you're going to need to take a note or make a list. This keeps me from having to pull my phone out every time I want to remember something. The writing quality is really smooth, and they're very durable.

UPDATE: one original was defective, but customer service was great
UPDATE 5/19/23:After emailing Narwhalco about the issue, they sent out a replacement promptly. It seems much more solid than the original with none of the scratchiness when deploying or retracting the tip, so I'm thinking the first one was defective. Great customer service! Changing review to five stars - defects happen with even the best products, but great customer service makes all the difference. Will definitely buy more products from them.UPDATE:When attempting to record a video showing the issue with the barrel slipping and not operating smoothly during deploy/retraction, the problem got noticeably worse. Now the barrel almost free spins, making deployment difficult, and usually failing to fully retract altogether - I have to pull the barrel halfway off to get the mechanism to catch in order to fully deploy or retract the tip. Considering this, this is a two star product at best.Original 4 star review:I got these so I could take notes while I travel.Pros:- The size fits perfectly in a leather passport wallet.- The ink flows smoothly when writing, although I wouldn't say these are a pleasant writing experience. See below.- All metal construction.- Two solidly built pens and a black and blue refill for what I paid is a great value.Cons:- While the clip is secure, it's almost *too* tight, as it takes a bit of effort to clip into the spine of my passport wallet and it definitely leaves a mark when you remove it. However, it's a soft leather wallet, so you may not have this problem clipping it into a firmer material or the back of a notebook.- The pen uses a friction fit, which keeps cost down, but works to its disadvantage since the twist action to deploy or retract the pen is scratchy and not at all smooth, and sometimes slips, especially when retracting.- The smooth, narrow, round barrel tends to roll around between my fingers. If this either had some added texture, or maybe some contouring or flat edges, it would be easier to grip. As it is, it's not really a great writing experience, and other, slightly wider, mini pens might be a better fit if you need an EDC pen for daily use.Overall, for my purposes as a passport wallet pen for occasional use, it's still a good value, but with some room for improvement it could be a great little pen. And I wouldn't at all recommend it as an EDC pen - it's not really usable one-handed, especially if you want to carry it clipped into a pocket, since the clip doesn't really work well with soft material, and the barrel is not easy to deploy with one hand.

Three Years Later: Worth It
I purchased this set of two pens over three years ago now, and I've used them almost every day since for small notes to myself in my wallet. They're the perfect tiny size for something like that. Now, with three years of working with them, I can say the following:(1) They are _extremely_ robust. I've dropped them in (many) parking lots, stepped on them, and otherwise completely abused them and other than some wear on the logo for the company, there were no issues for over three years (see below for an issue with one pen after three years).(2) They write smoothly and for a surprising amount of time on one ink cartage assuming you're not writing a novel every day with them. I am still going through the original ink refills that came with mine. I did sign up for free ink replacements, but haven't had to use them.(3) Having two of them is very helpful for someone who is a bit forgetful. I clip one to my wallet, but I still keep losing it by putting it down somewhere, dropping it in the car, etc. With a second pen, instead of having to stop everything I'm doing to search for it, I just use a backup while I wait to I find it. It sounds like a stupid thing to be happy about, but really it's reduced a lot of stress needing to find my favorite pen I've (temporarily) lost.(4) The ink/pen can write easily on skin in an "emergency note" situation. I've done this many times over the years. I understand that this is _not_ the intended use, but it's a "good to know" for people like me who occasionally prefer to use an X on their hand instead of a string on their finger.Anything bad? Well, part of why I am writing this review now is to say that after three years of almost constant use, one of the pens finally stopped working properly. That, in my experience, is a very long lifetime for a pen, so that's _good_.What happened? Well, the place where the top and bottom of the pen meet has become just a little loose, so the tip-covering slowly sinks down while writing and has to keep being pushed up. Additionally, it doesn't open efficiently anymore because there isn't enough friction on the twist-mechanism. I've contacted the company to see if there is any way to repair this easily (since I signed up for the warranty when I got the pens I might as well ask). I'll update this review if they get back to me, but if you don't see an update, assume I just bought another set since they're not expensive :PSo, overall, excellent pens, I highly recommend them, and like some other reviewers: I can't believe I felt the need to review a pen :P
