WJEC/Eduqas GCSE Music: Student Book

Bought this for my daughter to help her revise for her GCSE Music. She reports that it is ideal for her course and covers everything that she has already done during lessons. A very helpful guide for reinforcing what she has done in school.

Surprisingly useful. There is a web site that has audio examples to use with the book. Good for personal use or for the classroom.

Excellent book for anyone doing gcse music. Has links to a website with log in details so that you can listen to extracts as well!

A useful product for GCSE as there are not many past papers available for this examining board.

This is a generally useful book for students studying the WJEC/Eduqas GCSE music syllabus. But it feels very dated in its format. I bought this with a view to recommending it to my students (I'm a music teacher), but the examples & references don't include music 15-19 year-old students would know without research, especially in the Popular Music chapter. I also found the musical scores used as examples are very overwhelming for students, and seem to assume all students are pianists. The set works chapters are useful.

I could feel my anxieties rise as I thumbed through... Too much material and very dense. Needs to be more selective re contents. Few students could learn this much content in time scale.A little more humour (as in CGP books) would help too.
