A very colorful version of G3 Frankie Stein
I'm an adult skullector, and I've been skullecting Monster High for many years. Amped Up Frankie Stein is one of the newer iterations of G3 Frankie Stein that was rebooted last year.Amped Up Frankie Stein comes dressed in a retro mid 80's/early 90's inspired neon outfit, with a plastic collar and pink skinny tie, a plastic "chain" harness, poofy metallic bolero jacket over a black vinyl halter top, and vinyl shorts, all in their signature colors and lightening bolt shapes. They come with a number of accessories, notably their pink and purple keytar. They also come with a bolt-shaped earrings, bracelet, knuckle ring that says "ZAP", "chain" headphones with a needle crown, a blow dryer, aerosol bottle of "Bolt Hold" where the lid actually comes off, a bottle of energy drink, a "bag" of sour candies, a tiny plastic picture of their BFFs, a tiny comb with a lightening bolt handle, two barrettes, an iCoffin, and a tiny Skullette-shaped hand mirror, as well as a blue plastic tote with green lightening bolts on it to carry all their stuff. Their boots are a mismatch, with one that covers most of the leg with a zipper and a pink to purple gradient, and a more open one for the leg that shows their prosthetic leg.Mattel seems to have worked on a paint that is less likely to chip off for Frankie's stitches and designs on their prosthetic leg. I did not encounter any issues with those rubbing off, even with the limited amount of play with getting them out of the box and taking photos. The screening on my dolls came out perfect. This Frankie doesn't look straight ahead, they are looking off to the right. They do kind of suffer from the "short neck" syndrome the other Frankie's of G3 does, because they tend to be dressed in higher necked clothes and accessories. In this doll's case, it's because of the plastic collar and tie combo. These can make them look a little weird in the box. This doll also shows a little more effort put into the clothing details. Their metallic bolero jacket is very detailed, with pleats and poofs and hems in the right places. The vinyl shorts also are hemmed, as is the vinyl top under the jacket. I do find the bolt-shaped heels very cute, but the type of plastic the boots are made up make these heels very, very flimsy. This generation of Monster High relies heavily on accessories; while those have always been a thing with them, all the dolls generally come with something, and will definitely come with a food item which is a spoof of a real food item. This one is sour kid-shaped stitched together children. I'm sure they're sour, then they're sweet. ;PFrankie in this generation has a different body type than G1 Frankie's of the past. In fact, all the G3 dolls have different, unique body types. Frankie is tall/skinny, however they all have a thicker body than the original G1 dolls. While I still have a place in my heart for G1 dolls, I appreciate what Mattel has done with the body inclusivity of this line, and especially that they do include food items with every doll, and not all of those food items are "healthy" snacks. They are the snacks of regular teenage girls, and that's clawsome!I'm dying to know the matching story behind this doll, but as these are coming out months before the animation on Nickelodeon, my only guess is that they are on stage for the Monster Ball, as Frankie was the only ghoul to not be included in that line, which goes against historical precedence. Could possibly lead into Neon Frights, given the color scheme.Keeping in mind this is a playline doll, I am disappointed that Frankie's hair is not higher quality. It will not stay straight, and it easily tangles. Thankfully they do not have any gel in their hair, so it wasn't in need of an immediate wash. But the hair will tangle in no time, and kids (and us adult skullectors) will get annoyed with this quickly. It doesn't even actually feel good to play with, kind of rough.Monster High dolls also no longer come with stands and brushes either; instead they come with other quickly lost plastic accoutrements. While I do think those are cute, I'll have to get a third party stand to display them. Mattel is also heavily relying on plastic clothing accessories instead of fabric clothing details in the G3 dolls, which is evident in Frankie's harness, collar, and headphones.Overall, I do love Amped Up Frankie Stein. They are a fangtastic addition to the doll landscape right now.

Rockin
I do feel like there are a lot of unneccesary accesories with this doll, but Frankie themselves look AMAZING. Love the color palette, the punchy silver of the sleaves, and the electric piano is so fun. Posing them with my Hissfits set with a little grungy makeover!

Adorable
Absolutely adorable doll, The shoes quality makes it impossible for the doll to stand up by herself, perfect to play with for the younger kids, her hair is soft and her accessories fun to play with, highly durable.

Damaged Packaging
I absolutely adore this doll, however when I received mine part of the logo on the packaging was torn off. I did not intend on displaying my doll in package luckily however I do like keeping the packaging and using it to display other things. Another note is that all of these dolls are very hard to get out of the packaging so be careful with the staples in the head. The doll herself is perfectly fine and I love her though!
