Apparently incompatible with Macs - it connected to printer but nothing would actually print
I bought this because my printer - HP Envy 4527 - kept falling off the wifi every time it went to sleep. I had numerous enthusiastic endorsements for the StarTech USB print server from friends who have them, so I assumed it would be a no-brainer.Sadly, it didn't work for me. I could connect to the print server, and the server confirmed that it was connected to the printer. I could also install the printer on my computer (MacBook Pro) via the print server, but whenever I tried printing, nothing happened. The print manager would say "File successfully sent to printer" but nothing would print. I followed the instructions on the StarTech support site to the letter, but it refused to print anything at all. There is a bit of confusion in the documentation, as there is a list of supported USB printers (dated 2008, so my printer is not on it) but one of the answers in the support section of the website states that it is a universal device so should work on any USB printer. At this point, it is unclear if the issue is a lack of support for MacOS beyond 10.X.X (I am on MacOS 13) or whether my specific printer is not supported. I did check for firmware updates, but my unit was running the current firmware. Regardless, I have had to return it and will need to look into a printer that natively supports Ethernet, which is annoying as they seem to be much more expensive than the USB & wifi ones.

It works for me on windows 10
We use it on a label printer. On one computer it works after the cd program installed. However, the next computer tale me a bit long to found the printer driver direct from system 32. At the end they both work.

Feel like I have been robbed... £58 for this tiny box...
Feel like I have been robbed... £58 for this tiny box...-The build quality is awful considering the price.-A standard USB cable is also NOT included!.-The cheapest mains adaptor I have ever seen!, I was suprised that it didn't break when pushed lightly into wall socket. It has different heads like a travel adaptor socket for different countries - however the 3 pin plug adaptor head is so thin! - the earth terminal pin is not connected its just a thin piece of molded plastic, bending when I pushed it into the socket. After complaining about the build quality and penny pinching - It does actually work.

It just works!
I've had a few of these over the years and they just work. I've used them with Zebra label printers, Brother printers, etc. Just plug into the network and connect to a printer with a USB. You don't get a USB cable so you'll need one of those.Great product for printers you need to get on the network that don't have a network connection.

pointless for MACs
tried every configuration - on different OS - even Apple coudn't get it to work. gave up in the end and bought an ethernet enable epson tank printer - expensive but will pay back in saved catridges and my sanity!
