Good Time

Worth the watch, thank Pete!
Learned of this film when Pete Davidson gushed about it on the Tonight Show (between Grande moments). This is a good movie, with a great acting showcase by Robert Pattison, who I previously thought was just pretty. This should have gotten more play in the theater, but I guess that is good news for us.as we get it for free with Prime. Again, worth your time.

Outstanding movie in every way -- and a fantastic Blu-ray, too
GOOD TIME marks the first time I've ever rented a movie and, when it was over, immediately walked over to my computer and ordered the Blu-ray Disc. (Usually I have to think about it awhile, but not this time.) I knew I had to have this in my collection right away. Another reviewer below called this the best movie of 2017. It's certainly my favorite movie of the year (and maybe the decade). For starters, it's a film that LOOKS like film. Far too many movies these days have that too-clean digital look. Not GOOD TIME. It was shot on 35mm film, and this makes a world of difference.GOOD TIME harks back to the classic crime thrillers of the 1970s, but with plenty of modern twists. No spoiler alerts in this review. Let's just say the story propels forward with incredible speed and keeps you engaged till the end. Really, my mind didn't wander for even a second during the whole film. Script, direction (maybe two directors is better than one? The Safdie Brothers did a beautiful job here), cinematography, music -- all perfect. And the casting: If Robert Pattinson is eager to put those "Twilight" movies behind him, he certainly found the right vehicle with this. He gives an amazing performance. (Ditto all the others actors too.)Speaking of Pattinson: He participates on the Blu-ray audio commentary track, even though the packaging doesn't list him (!) It's a very fun listen.Blu-ray quality is pretty wonderful here -- flawless picture, and the kick-ass soundtrack is served well. (The music, by Oneohtrix Point Never a/k/a Daniel Lopatin, is tremendous and really enhances this already-great movie.)You'd be hard pressed to find a more enthralling or well-made film than GOOD TIME. I'm going to watch it again & again.

Ummmm ... What???
Excruciatingly and horrifically unwatchable "video", filled with randomly fleeting pinball careening "action" and situational ineptitude, coupled with undeveloped, moronic logic.Take your phone down to the corner in say Cleveland, at night. Perhaps Sacramento or St. Louis, it really doesn't matter. Randomly video others doing random things; eating burgers, walking, arguing, pumping gas, getting in Uber cars, smiling and using their phones; possibly even recording you. In this, your newly made original video, the writing will be better, the plot lines and story elements will be genius, highly nuanced and more interesting than anything within this utter train wreck of an amateur attempt at a film, apparently written by high, starving and bored teenagers who do not know how to live yet or make basic daily decisions.Your new video?I will watch itTo erase the memory of sitting through this one.

A24 keeps cranking out the hits...
fantastic movie! Came to this after watching Hereditary (also by A24) and other A24 releases. They are making some strong cinema. This one isn't so much on the "creepy horror" side, but it is still terrifying in its own right.Without giving too much away, this film does its best to show all the collateral damage a person can do to friends, family, and acquaintances via a selfish act of crime. It is covered in a realistic way---there is no "comic relief". It's pretty depressing to watch the despair and descent, but it always feels real. Every would be criminal would do well to watch this movie repeatedly before deciding on even the most petty of crimes.

Relentlessly Good
GOOD TIME is an exceptionally good film with Robert Pattinson in an astonishing star turn. (Yeah, I know what you’re thinking: “Robert Pattinson?”) It’s directed by Josh Safdie (who also co-wrote) and his brother Benny (who also costars). The movie is quite remarkable in its pace and narrative inventiveness; a dark, urban landscape, gleaming with the feral charm of dead-enders whose lives have ceased to have any more meaning than the improvisation of their own survival. Even if it’s just for another hour. In fact, it’s a hundred relentless minutes of that survival. It’s among my very favorite films of 2017.

Good Time was the Greatest Time
I’d never heard of the Safdie Brothers, until I saw this movie a while back. But I’m definitely glad I have now. Robert Pattinson is electric and unrecognizable in this film. There’s a gritty and intense feel throughout the whole film that had me burying my nails into my palms the whole time. If you’re looking for a nail biting film that will have you on the edge of your seat this is it. The original score for the film also adds to it beyond belief. All in all, I can see why the movie was title Good Time. In all honesty, one of the best films I’ve seen in a while, they sure don’t make them like this anymore. This is a film that’s in its own league and now it is one of my main faves for sure.

Poor Time
Robert Pattinson is barely recongisable from his 'Twilight' days. He plays a loser struggling to get by with his mentally challenged brother. Out of desperation, they rob a bank and Pattinson's sibling ends up getting caught and then beaten up in prison. He is then transferred to hospital under armed guard and Pattinson tries to smuggle him out as he can't afford the bail/bond money. Due to the bandages wrapped around the injured man's face, Pattinson ends up taking someone else and not his brother from the hospital. From then on, you guessed it, it goes from bad to worse.

movie sound track is perfect the cinematography is mediocre
I think it's not the product problem.it's such a low budget film that sometimes the focus is out when there is handheld shots following the actors.Very annoying.I think they did not even had time to shoot one more time. The lighing is always not enough so it is not like Academy cinematography worth movie. But the plot and the movie is amazing. And if you want to buy it buy bluray.DVD will be worse, I can tell.

What a film.
Any doubters of Rpatz Dark Knight credentials should start here and work on his other excellent non-sparkly-vampire fodder. What a film this is. And what a star.

Through The New York Underworld
Criminal Constantine Nikas tries to break his mentally disabled brother out of jail after a bank robbery gone wrong. Robert Pattinson far removed from his sparkly vampire Twilight days now and well established as a massive star of indie films giving one of the best performances of his career in this tense and terrific thriller from upcoming directors The Safdie Brothers. One of the directors, Bennie Safdie also appears as Constantine's brother with a good supporting performance from Jennifer Jason Leigh in this instant classic modern thriller that's very intense to watch.
