Works
Used this to add a USB port to my motherboards USB 2.0 header, so I can have an internal USB drive with Unraid installed. Works exactly as expected.

Used with Xpenology
I used this with an Expenology NAS build to have the USB flash drive with the Xpenology bootloader inside the casing instead of using an external slot, works fine and makes for a cleaner looking build.

Good for home PC builders
You'll probably need this to get extra USB provision for certain internal card readers which say about using a cable out of the back of the PC case via a back plate. This negates this untidy method and all you do is plug it onto a motherboard USB header & connect your device, job done with no unwieldy loop-throughs.

Solid & reliable internal USB socket.
Great product, cable is shielded and having the larger moulded USB socket at the end is handy so you can attach (stick or tie down) inside you PC case.I use mine (I purchased 2) for my Logitech Unifying receiver & a Bluetooth dongle mounted inside my PC case saving my from wasting two external ports.

Perfect for Zero Delay USB arcade joystick boards
Used this adapters to replace a long USB cable for an arcade joystick and it is pin compatible with the widely available Zero Delay USB boards. I drilled a hole into the side of a wooden self build case and filed it out with rasp to tightly fit the plug shape, then pressed it in from the inside until level with the outside surface, now I can use a standard A-to-A male plug USB cable of any length. Perfect!

Great Value
Works as expected, I'm using it for a WiFi dongle connected directly to the motherboard. Looks clean and just enough cable.

Just the job
Simple, but effective. Nicely put together, and works just fine. The cable is a reasonale length, and it sits nicely inside the case, allowing easy connection of an internal accessory.

Header plug is keyed backwards to convention
The little arrow on the plug points on the positive line: this is common convention of pretty much every manufacturer.Except Star Tech apparently, who have decided that this needs to be ground which means that polarity on the plug is reversed to convention. Now they do 'helpfully' label on the plug which cable is doing what but this is a shockingly easy oversight for error if someone isn't paying attention and will burn out electronics. This is why a lot of the negative reviews reporting fried hardware I suspect, they assume these nimrods have applied convention and sadly I now find myself with a burnt out SSD and PSU because of it. No recourse as they do label the plug but come on, this is a point of failure that could easilly have been avoided.Other than that it works, though 1/5 as this kind of bad design needs to be stamped out.
