This knife is awesome
I purchased this knife as a gift for my dad who loves cooking and has never had a Japanese cooking knife. I’ve heard all the amazing things about them I wanted to surprise him. He loves the knife so much! The weight feels great, and the blade is very sharp and strong. I highly recommend this knife.

Balance and beauty
This is one of the best knives I have ever used. The edge is so sheer you hardly have to touch the edible. Not only does it look beautiful but it feels good in hand. The balance is near perfect.

Pretty great knife
This knife is pretty great. I’ve been a pastry chef for many years, yet I do cook a lot of savory food at home. I appreciate a well made knife. It’s not always easy for me to find one I can use because I’m left handed, and the knife making world as a whole seems to forget that left handed people exist. My only complaint about this knife is that it doesn’t cut as smoothly as I’d like, possibly from the double edge (which allows both a right and left handed user to use it). The knife is easy to hold, use and feels great in your hands. If you’re bothered by an expensive knife having words and serial numbers on the blade, then I suggest you find another one. It is the best knife in my kit!

Sharp as hell, not for beginners though
Phenomenal knife, the edge retention is out of this world. There lies the issue, if not handy with water stones it’s going to be a challenge to maintain that edge.
