super helpful as I plan school
I'm a music educator and a Charlotte Mason homeschooling mom. I like to read something on music ed every year, and I really enjoyed this. A lot of the info wasn't new to me, but I really needed something to help me get the big picture for a truly vibrant composer study/music appreciation in our homeschool. So many ideas swirling around in my head, now to go make a solid plan! :)

Great for the mom who just doesn’t know where to start
While I’m already a part of a CM group, I still felt a little hesitant about where to begin or how for Composer study, solfege, and folk songs and hymns.I am, I can, I ought, I will - we must begin, somehow, someway! This book will give you that boost of confidence and plenty of ideas to get going. If you already have a CM group you’re a part of that gives you the books and pieces to listen to each term, this is a wonderful supplement. If you’re like me, and think you need more of the bigger picture because of your own gaps in musical education, this book will set you on your way. Some times we just need to hear another’s story to help set us off on our own journey. A Touch of the Infinite gives you a peek into a brillant mother’s own CM journey, not to mention her own brilliant musical background!

Passionate and Inspiring
This book came highly recommended in a Charlotte Mason community and delivered exactly what I was hoping! The author is passionate about a music education and I finished the book inspired to raise my children surrounded by the best music for God’s glory.

This is an excellent look at Charlotte Mason's thoughts on music education
This is an excellent look at Charlotte Mason's thoughts on music education. Megan Hoyt has obviously done extensive research, and presents it in a way that is accessible to everyone, no matter their music background. She has an infectious passion for the subject. I recommend it to Charlotte Mason educators, but also to any educator wanting to present a well-rounded, robust music appreciation curriculum, whether at home or in the classroom.

Megan Hoyt's A Touch of the Infinite inspires the reader ...
Megan Hoyt's A Touch of the Infinite inspires the reader to to delve more deeply into music study - even if it is not one's normal forte (pun intended):). I was enraptured with Hoyt's writing style, and she made the depth of the study of music in a Charlotte Mason education materialize for me in a manner I had never envisioned previously. Bravo and many thanks to Megan Hoyt for her incredible work on this fascinating topic!
