Accentuate Party Game

Great Fun
I bought this for my brother's family for Christmas and they played it on Christmas Day and with friends on New Year's Eve. They said it was hilarious with everyone having a go at all the different accents.

Fun to play occasionally - but not much scope
A fun game to play especially after a few drinks, but not that much variation. Yes, there is different types of accents to do, but if the player struggles then that's it. We played as many as you could do in the time allowed rather than the one player reads one saying.

Hilarious game to play.
This game is hilarious, I’m bad at accents and it’s so hard when you have to do the accent with the given phrase and makes it that more fun to play because you can’t do the stereotypical phrases that we all know. It’s so fun to play after a tipple :)

Didn't really live up to the hype
You have to read out a film quote and then repeat the film quote in a given accent. Your team then have to guess name and year of the film and then the accent. Honestly, unless you're a complete film buff it's very very difficult... The film quotes are really not that well known, and the dates are near impossible. For instance I had a very obscure film quote from 'the Eagle has landed'. The accent element is funny for a while, however unless you're good at accents then everyone just sounds Indian, which is funny for a minute. It was OK for a bit of fun after Christmas Dinner, however we didn't finish the game and I don't imagine we'll play again.

Fun game, New Zealand snubbed
Purchased as a Christmas present. Lots of fun! Enjoyed by the whole family. The dice that comes with it doesn't add much to the game. More options on the nice might have made it more interesting. Some accents (Israeli, Cypriot) seem a bit obscure. We were saddened and puzzled that New Zealand was not an accent included in the game :-(

Needs more content!
Sadly, I've had to give this product 3 stars since it didn't really live up to expectation. The concept is very good, I've always wanted a game where you could show off your impressions, but it could do with a few more accents; it has about 30 accents mostly from the UK. This game is best played with 8 or more people, as with just my small family, we ended up finishing the game in about 40 minutes, because it just became insanely repetitive. As a suggestion for improving this product, either add more accents from around the world and especially add maybe celebrity accents since they add a lot more variety and most people can relate to them. This could even be a separate game, just with celebrity impressions. I would focus on actors from popular tv shows such as game of thrones and recurring actors in most hollywood films.

Some improvement needed
Accentuate is an okay game. I like the concept of it, pick a quote card, pick an accent card, see what happens. But there could be improvements to it.1) The quote cards, though thought provoking, are pretty boring when you want to play a fun (funny) game. They could have added jokes, or lines from popular/classic movies. Reading quotes from philosophers and great thinkers takes the fun out of it.2) The accents are repetitive. I had Mexican twice in a row and Japanese 3 times in a row in the same game! It's okay, but I wouldn't recommend it unless the people you're playing with are good at accents. If no one is then there's no point. If I'm going to play again, I'll make my own quote cards I think. Maybe add a few accents...

funny but hard to play
Nice funny game we bought as a gift, but it's quite challenging even for native speakers. We played a bit, everyone had fun, but after short time we switched to a easier game... Recommended for linguists.
