Great little device
Its pocket sized and does the job tremendously well. I recommend keeping it plugged into power, but apparently it has 6 hours of battery life without power. It uses the large sim card variant, but if you buy a sim card you should get that anyway. It also uses the old mobile charger, not USB-C, but the device comes with a charging cable. The device name and login details are available on the device itself, accessed using only two buttons: the menu button to access the menu, and the power button to select options. Using these details, you can connect your computer and access the IP address to change additional settings on the device, much like a router. I recommend turning off sleep mode this, as the device defaults to turning off after 10 minutes of no use.To get a new sim card running, you may need to do what I did: plug your sim card into your phone first, set it up with the configuration message you get from your sim provider, then you can remove it from your phone and put it into this MiFi device. Works a charm.Simple, straight forward, does the job.

Mobile WiFi device - recommended
This is a review of the device and not the data plan. This is a small and neat black mobile WiFi unit that will enable you you connect to the web from just about anywhere your network providers coverage allows (mobile WiFi is great for e-mail and general web surfing but beware streaming etc will eat up your data very quickly, although this will depend on your plan). This device takes a full size standard Simm (it is unlocked and will therefore take a simm provider of your choice), simply slot it in charge the battery and turn it on. Search on your iPad (or other device) for the WiFi's name, select it and enter the password and you are connected to the web in seconds. I believe you can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously. The battery charges relatively quickly via a USB lead and lasts me about 6-8 hours out and about but that would obviously vary on your personal usage and trends. When not connected the WiFi enters a battery conserving sleep mode, connect and it wakes up.Really simple to set up and use, recommended.Edit - There is no need to connect this device to a computer unless you wish to do so for charging etc, it performs really well and I have found that I can access the internet from even fairly remote locations, it even picked up a good signal on the Devon coast last week but that would obviously depend somewhat on your providers coverage.

Mobile Wifi Hotspot
This was bought for using at home for my broadband instead of the usual telephone plus broadband service. It was not the easiest thing to set up, the instructions were not good. But I find that anything that comes from China is the same. But now I have got it working properly it works great. The speed is good, and I can watch catch up TV on the internet without a problem. The only issue is the battery. I bought this as it said it lasted 6 hours. But I was finding that this depends on your usage. If you set your programs to update automatically it runs the battery down, even if you are not using it. Also, it was set up to switch off when it was not being used for any length of time. I had to disable this function as I had to keep switching it on when I did want to use it. This was a pain. I can understand why it was set up this way. But it was no good for my type of usage. I found an updated app and downloaded it. I could set it up better using this. I have got it plugged into the USB point permanently to keep the battery at 100%.

Useless
Just use your iphone, it’s just the same or even better than this mini router, I really don’t know what I expected from such a basic plastic sim card holder. We got it for the campervan but it’s incapable of getting a signal through to the pop up bedroom from where it’s plugged in 30 cm away.Watched a YouTube video and was swayed by the guy promoting it. The most important factor is your service provider, make sure they have coverage and use your iphone.

Not too bad for a short time
Bought it as an emergency source of wifi because I was moving out of my flat and my landlord stopped providing the broadband a month before I left (little rude) and it wasn't too bad. The battery doesn't last very long so I had to keep it plugged in which would make it really hot, but luckily it was the middle of London winter so I could just place it right at my bedroom window and keep it cool there. Pretty easy to set up and had minimal issues. Overall, a pretty good short-term solution.

Great bit of kit.
Arrive next day, Bought this to use in the motorhome and it was not expensive so great value fir money. Instalation was simple and straight forward and no problems at all. Small and compact so thats not an issue. Battery last about 5 to 6 hrs, but the simple remedy to that is to plug it in to a power source.

Totally recommended - Huawei E5577C Mobile WIFI Router.
Totally recommended . . .Huawei E5577C Mobile WIFI Router. From leaving home to traveling all the way across France 3 weeks in far South of France only used 6.65 gigs of data of the 12 gig data card I put in. Two phones constantly connected. 1 tablet used most evenings. 1 laptop used every other day. Uploaded/downloaded photos/videos Spotify you name it. Just as fast as home internet mostly. Good strong stable signal the whole trip - even right out on the beach.______________________________________UPDATE: 20th March 2018. Had this product 8 months now and have used it in 4 countries Slovenia. Germany. France. UK. It has never let me down yet. I get about 4 hours out of the battery but when I connect it to my RAV power bank it will easily run and run and run. Works anywhere a mobile phone will work.----------------------------------------------------------------https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B011YM0OXU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0
