This is an excellent mosquito repellant. I've been using it for years.when i'm abroad i keep it in my hand bag and apply to my arms and legs when evening falls. together with a light long sleeve shirt.

Seems to do the job , don't use it often

Having just been over to Cuba for several weeks, I was determined to not get bitten!!!I have read about the possible Dengue fever out break in the far East regions of Cuba and we were travelling near to there, so i wanted something that works. Myself and my wife are prone to bites - plus I was also reading about the Sand Flies in parts of Varadero where we finished our tour.So, in the first few days during the day we were fine, in the evening after a few hours of Rain (bang on 4pm every day for 2 hours - hurricane season) the Mozzies are out - so after showering and after-sunning ourselves, we applied the 55 Deet repellent. I can say in the first 4 days, we had no bites - on the places we used the spray. I did suffer 2 bites on my upper thigh - now it says to not use the spray underneath clothing and I was wearing long trousers, linen. Still, I applied a small amount around the ankle area - a prone place for being bitten for me. It seemed to work - the upper thigh I did not apply too and it could have been in the evening whilst sleeping that I was bitten here.The rest of the first half of the holiday, we used the 55 and the 100 Deet depending on where we were staying and again, no bites.The second half of out holiday was just chilling out at the Sandals Resort in Varadero. The first day we went to the beech - #amazeballs - the water is so clear and the sand is white. We were in and out of the sea and on the sun loungers all day - we then discovered a few bites, only on our arms. We worked out that laying face down on a lounger with your arms hanging over the edge whilst you read was a great way to get bitten!!!The following day, at the beech, we done 2 things - 1: We didn't lay face down with our arms hanging over the sides, and 2: we used the 55 Deet.ALL GOOD - no more bites, woop woop.We did still receive the most random odd bite during the course of eh night and always in the places where we didn't apply the spray!!!All in all, I think we had about 12 bites between the 2 of us over 3 weeks - im not ashamed to say that was the most bite free holiday we have had!!!The product is great, worked for us - please bear in mind - if you use the 100 Deet this is alot lot stronger, i used some on my neck one night, not knowing i was a bit sun-burnt and it did sting for a long time until I had to wash it off and use the 55 instead - which was fine (I think the 100 Deet had killed all the nerve endings by this time anyway)Great products in my opinion, if your sensitive in nature to things on yr skin stick with the 55, if your going somewhere where you need to NOT GET BITTEN - use this stuff, and go for the 100 would be my advice. It really works.

Brought this the first time my son went to Tanzania few years back.. no problems at all .. brought it ever since it's really good I'm always getting bitten on holiday but not once I started using this thankyou amazing product !

Purchased Several items to deter mosquitoes, and nothing really worked. This was a very strange sensation when applying as it seemed to go warm. Can’t say it helped deter mosquitoes as I still got bitten quite badly. Not sure if I would recommend. Maybe I would’ve got beaten worse if I hadn’t applied it, but had at least 40 bites at one point.

Could be the product or luck, but I went to Norway during the summer and didn't get bit.

Only insect repellent that I have used that has actually worked. Just spent a month in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia and whenever we used this product neither or us were bitten. Only bites we had were early morning or evening when we hadn't applied the product.Low odour product, which is a nice change from some other repellents. In fact you would hardly know you had put any on at all. Got into a lift one night that must have had about 10 mosquitos in it - interesting to see them fly as far away as possible from us. So definitely has very good repellent properties.Product goes a long way as well - 4 weeks away and two of us only used 1 and 1/4 bottles of repellent.Had a couple of annoying reactions to the product. Stinging senstion on the skin that had been exposed to the sun during the day, which took 10 - 15 minutes to wear off. Also had some minor skin irritation with red blotches appearing. These areas disappeared after washing the product off. Didn't sting, just looked as if I had random sun burned areas of skin. Reaction was lessend by applying sparingly to hands and them rubbing into skin, rather than spraying directly onto the skin itself. But, this was far less of a reaction than I have with other products (including the Boots own brand stuff), so would still give a good rating anyway.Would definitely use again despite the minor irritations as this is the only product that I have used that has actually worked or not caused major skin irritation. Very happy with this repellent.
