My son got this for his birthday and it’s a great set, well made as all the Thomas stuff is.

When you have two well-known names in one toy, you are pretty sure you are onto a winner. This Thomas the Tank Engine track by Fisher Price offers a well-designed and quality set. You get the main set (that includes cranky, Thomas and his carriage and a cargo block that has a hook, so Cranky can hook and unhook the goods onto Thomas's cart. It is all very cute and is great fun for little ones...however, they can get a little bored after doing this for a while. That said, you can get extension tracks and then add other trains etc to make the play more interactive.At the time of review, this set was £42.99 and to be honest for a brand such as this, I do think it is a fair price. I'd say this would make a perfect gift for a Thomas the Tank fan but you may want to eventually add onto it to extend the longevity of play. 4/5

This is a delightful vehicle set from the creators of Thomas the tank. The USP here is that it folds up into a carrying case when you’ve done and all the little accessories fit inside-even the crane can removed and then can be fitted into a slot on the back of the case itself - very clever.Of course, none of this would matter if the set itself wasn’t any fun-so is it? A resounding YES! but more so AFTER you’ve added a couple more accessories I feel? It is appealing to little hands and there are enough opening doors, a drawbridge and a spinning turntable to keep young minds engaged. It comes with a Thomas tank engine and trailer, but it really does need a couple more trains adding to it to really bring it to life. There isn’t a great deal to do and I think the fun starts when you can hook vehicles together and push them round the track. There are a couple of points on the track section of this set which can connect to other plastic tracks in this range, so you can effectively extend this set and build from it, which will increase the fun to be had.Considering the build quality, Fisher Price reputation and of course, Thomas the stank branding I feel this is reasonably priced at £40, but unless you already own some other accessories, then be prepared to spend at least another £20 on a couple of trains and maybe some extra track in order to get the most out of this!

A very nice and picturesque set that can be connected to TrackMaster2 (AEG) tracks. But it has two big flaws (see pictures):1. Only one shed is "operational". This means that you can park only one Push Along engine in the shed. The other two sheds on the upper platform are "dummies". You can open the door, but you can't put the engine in it. That's because on the other side of the "suitcase" is a storage area for Cranky, when not in use. It would be really neat to be able to put three locomotives in three sheds. But that is not possible. That is really disappointing!!2. When the "suitcase" is unfolded, a space (tunnel) is created under the higher part of the diorama. But it is very low. Motorized AEG engines cannot pass under the diorama, they must go around it.Except for the above, everything else is OK. But because of these two major flaws - only three stars.

My little boy has the maintenance yard and loop track with a battery operated Thomas which will work and connect up to this toy as well.Most of the Thomas and friends range of toys and tracks connect with each other apart from wooden tracks/toys.This makes the toys great to add other elements to, for continued enjoyment and imagination for kids.This train track and garage/turntable/drawbridge/crane is a nice size and played with either by itself, adding track to it or connecting it up with other tracks your child is sure to enjoy it.The good thing about this play set is that it can be stored and carried for travelling with. Good if you're going camping or on holiday and want to take a toy with you for the kids.It comes with a push a long Thomas but like I said, we also have a battery operated Thomas which chugs along the track by itself.It's nicely coloured to compliment other toys within the Thomas range and because there are lots of different toys in the range to add to, this makes it easier for us to tell family what presents to get for our boy for his birthday and Xmas, not to mention giving us an idea what to get him.I would say this is appropriately priced at just under £40 at time of review and it's well manufactured.Another good quality toy from the Thomas and friends range that connects to his track and loops to extend the play and keep him occupied for hours and is portable :-)

This Thomas the Tank engine train playset is a great gift or toy for a toddler who’s a fan of Thomas the Tank engine. The colours used on the toy feel a lot more muted and aimed at older children than the vibrant strong colours you’d get on younger kids toys. The set has moving parts like the doors which can be opened and closed with Thomas stored away, or the bridge lifted. If you have other trains they can be used here too. If you have other sets from the system, then they can also be connected together providing a larger set to play with. The best part is that this can be folded up like a suitcase and carried with you for easy transport. This makes it a good bulkier travel toy. The set includes 3 accessories, Cranky the Crane and Thomas. It’s definitely being played with a lot by my little girl but then again she is a big fan of Thomas and watches it a lot.
