Not pleased - isn't a hardcover as stated in description
It says in the product description that this book is a hardcover, but once I received it, it's a paperback. Even though I paid for the hardcover. The only other option was the Kindle Edition, so obviously the flaw lies in the description.

Good resource next to the desk
This 7th edition is hardcover. Previous editions did not look to be. I would have preferred flexibound because they're a bit easier to lay flat and feel less academic.Included some example pages of what it looks like inside, resembling a mix of Building Construction Illustrated and the Fundamentals of Building Construction (by the same authors). Not everyone needs all three books because there's bound to be overlap and redundancy.I can't really rate resource books but since Amazon necessitates a score, putting a 4 if anything because of the hardcover situation. I think it can be more usable in flexibound or even what looks to be coated softcover in previous editions.Sometimes things reveal their worth only in a sudden pinch or new unexplored workflow. A desk should have resources to reference, this could be one of them that sticks around for a half decade (each edition release looks to be around 5-6 years). Or never used but undoubtedly someone else will find it useful so pass it along.

Book received is not hardcover!
Not hardcover- just a thicker laminated paper. Book arrived with damaged cover, creased edges.
