Excellent Product
I had a smaller dehumidifier in my basement that couldn’t keep up during our very wet summer in Wisconsin. Had a very damp basement. I bought this unit to supplement the other one. After only a week of use, my basement was bone dry, and I actually shut off the initial dehumidifier and haven’t needed it in months. This unit pulls a lot of moisture out of the air. My basement is about 1400 square feet of finished basement, and this keeps it comfortable and dry. Excellent product. Highly recommend.

I called the 800 number provided and finally got a hold of a person and I gave him the information off my unit and he looked up the instruction manual for my unit and it turned out to be the wrong manual since the description he gave me of the control panel in the book did not match my unit and in the end all he could tell me was to return the unit to the store I got it from and to have a nice day since the manual did not match he had ...
Prurchased this humidifier after reviewing and comparing different humidifiers and looking at reviews. I am sorry that I settled on this one, I set it up in my basement area and hooked up the hose for continous draining per the instructions provided and turned the unit on. When I came back later that night to check on how it was going I found that it did not drain and the bucket was full so the unit was turned off, I drained the bucket and checked the connections and the instructions again and all was as it should have been so I tried it again and ended up with a full bucket again and no drainage thru the hose. I called the 800 number provided and finally got a hold of a person and I gave him the information off my unit and he looked up the instruction manual for my unit and it turned out to be the wrong manual since the description he gave me of the control panel in the book did not match my unit and in the end all he could tell me was to return the unit to the store I got it from and to have a nice day since the manual did not match he had no other troubleshooting tips for me. To this day I am still fighting with this system and I will never purchase another thing from this company.

The unit is easy to use and relatively quiet
So far this is working well. I did have some trouble getting it to drain using a hose... For some reason, pulling the hose adaptor out and putting it back in did the trick when it didn't drain from the hose the first time. The unit is easy to use and relatively quiet.

Great units for the price!
Shipped very quickly. I bought 2 because of the large space I am dealing with and they are working great so far.I have them, for now, standing up on the styrofoam that they shipped with to get them off the floor high enough so that they would drain properly into my sump pits. Once I figure out where to plae them, I will build a proper platform for these at that time. The noise isn't terribly loud when it's in another room but I wouldn't want this in the same room as I'm in or shut them off while the room is occupied and turn them back on once you leave. Again these are in the basement that is used as a rec room and storage. When I didn't have the unit high enough the bucket filled up and the unit shut off as expected. Emptying the bucket was a bit of a learning curve because there is no easy pour spout. Luckily it was being emptied into a sink or toilet. Can't comment on repeated bucket fills and emptying but i would recommend getting them hooked up to a drain if possible. There are pumps available that can pump the water up to a higher level than the unit if your unit is lower of same height as the drain/sink

It took forever to get it to work properly because it's a very bad design. To those who can't get this to ...
The hookup hose connection is atrocious. It took forever to get it to work properly because it's a very bad design. To those who can't get this to stop leaking into the bucket, the issue is gravity. If the hose has a high point higher than where the hose hooks up the water has a hole inside where the water will then flow into the bucket, bypassing the hose connection completely. No portion of the hose can be higher than where the hose connects to the unit. Outside that, the way the hose hooks up is terrible. It doesn't screw onto the unit like a normal dehumidifier, instead there is a plastic tube that you have to shove onto the spot where the water comes out. Basically the plastic tune piece is smaller than the tube where water comes out and you have to shove, wiggle, ram, and jam it on your get it to work right, which is why you see lots of reviews where people think it's leaking from that connection, when really it's coming out of the backup hole, which works like a sink backup hole to prevent overflows in your sink, only instead of drawing down the drain in your sink, it drains into the bucket. The only reason I give it two stars is because it does do a great job of pulling moisture from the air. This design just needs one tweak and it'd be great.

Workhorse; Quiet; 24/7; Awesome!
Awesome dehumidifier! This guy is quieter than my other dehumidifiers and keeps a 1k sq.ft. room perfect. It's humidity reading is off by ~5%. The room will be 55% but it will turn off as it reads 50%. Easily mitigated simply by setting it to 5 below your desired humidity.Hooked him up with a drain hose under the sink. Works perfectly; just make sure the hose has a negative slope going away from the unit.

Danby ArticAire dehumidifier off to a great start in OH
I got my unit toward the end of the damp season in OH. It's located in an unfinished 1400 sq ft basement. The walls have been painted with a moisture resistant paint. The longest distance is about 55' from 1 corner to the other. A sump pump cycles on and off to remove ground water from the footer drains. It worked well and in a few days had the relative humidity down to 45% from a high of 70%. I hooked up a drain hose so I didn't have to empty the reservoir that catches water removed from the air. The controls allowed me to set it at 45 or 50% and it maintained that level. It cycles on and off as needed. I used 2 thermometers with a humidity feature to cross check the performance of the unit. The temperature in my basement is about 63 degrees F. I also operate a fan which pulls air from upstairs and blows it outdoors. It will be interesting to see how it performs next year in an OH summer. It's Dec now and the humidity % level is in the 40's. I'm choosing not to heat the basement this winter. I had some questions so I called customer service and had a good experience with them.
