Helped stop subwoofer 60 Hz hum/ break ground loop.
Great product. I have subwoofer hum which I traced to a ground loop on my Comcast/XFINITY internet coaxial cable feed. In my case, the ground loop impacts my system through the DirecTV satellite coaxial cable. If I remove the sat coax from my system, the hum goes away. If I remove the RCA LFE audio feeds from my subs, the hum goes away. In my exterior box, BOTH the DirecTV distribution splitter as well as the Comcast grounding block are co-located; the grounds for each of them go to the same distribution (ground) block that also grounds ATT UVERSE / phone 2-wire feed. That ground block goes to my houses main UFER ground with 4 AWG copper- and my main electrical panel is grounded there too...so...the whole house is "star" grounded, but so I still had hum. I tried a Parts Express/Dayton Audio isolator on my Sat feed - and the sat did not work. I moved it to the Comcast feed BEFORE the grounding block, and it helped the hum a lot, but internet speed went way down to 6 MBPS. So...I tried this baby. Internet speed is back up to 75-80 MBPS and the hum has improved immensely. I added some Boss Audio isolation transformers (RCA) on my subwoofer RCA inputs as well and now the hum is inaudible unless you put your ear next to the subs. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. Be sure to buy or make a short piece of coaxial cable or buy an adapter to install this isolator, as both ends are identical.

UPDATE: This worked for years and I've never had a problem with it. However, a month or so ago we had an interruption in our cable service and the cable guy came and found that a squirrel had been chewing through our cable outside the house. He replaced a bunch of stuff outside and then gave this thing an odd look and removed it. The hum was gone - fixed, apparently, by the replacement of the cable. So, somehow the squirrel, in earlier stages of his work, had caused the bad ground. And now, we have much more reliable cable service. The lesson would be that if you have a hum, this may remove it, but it may also mask a more fundamental problem that is *causing* the hum. So, it's a good device, and it does what it claims to do, but be careful that you're not taking an aspirin for what may turn out to be cancer.---My cable TV had a ground loop that caused a terrible 60 cycle hum when my Blu-Ray player was hooked up to another input of the amplifier that they both share. By connecting this between the cable coming into the house (using the filter connector labeled SYSTEM) and the cable box (using the connector labeled SUBSCRIBER), this hum was completely eliminated. I can crank the audio to 100 percent, a level at which a whisper would blow out my speakers, with the cable DVR paused, and there is no perceptible sound. I can do the same thing with the DVR selected, with identical results. Also, my cable Internet seems to be unaffected by the addition of this filter. I do have a Y adapter, one branch of which goes to my cable modem and the other branch of which goes to my cable DVR box, and I did take the precaution of inserting the filter only on the branch that goes to the cable DVR box, so it is possible that there would have been an issue had I not connected it in that manner, but that might have worked fine, as well.Note that since my Y connector has a female output and the filter has two female outputs, I had to buy a female to female F-adapter from eek technology, which just arrived and seems to work fine. Without the Y adapter that was already part of my system, I would not have needed the F-adapter.

Ground Loop Buzz and Video Interference Gone
What can you say about a product that does exactly as promised. This thing is flawless. Like everyone else who has experienced this problem, the isolator rids you of the problem instantly. It is a no-brainer solution. I had called Cox cable and complained about a loud hum coming from my plasma flatscreen speakers which occurred only when I had my coax cable connected to the plasma input on the back, in line from the Cox cable box. When I disconnected the coax cable and then played a disk from my DVD player, the hum was not there, so I logically assumed that my cable feed was causing the hum. In addition to the hum I had scrolling "noise" bars rolling up the screen, interfering with the picture. So these two conditions were a result of the ground loop in my house, which seem to be linked to my cable feed. Cox said they could come out and troubleshoot it, while at the same time implying that it was probably not their cable feed which was the culprit. From reading other reviews of this product, it seems apparent that this is not a rare occurrence, and as such Cox should be smart enough to instantly suggest that you go out and buy this very inexpensive ground loop isolator, to see if the problem goes away, before they come out on a service call. If they come out and find that their signal coming into the house is as it should be (which it probably would be), then you get charged thirty dollars for the service call, because the ground loop was not a result of the cable feed. It was result of other conditions present within the electrical wiring in your house (although not dangerous in any way, it is a minor irritant). So, if you have a loud hum coming from your sound system or monitor, and/or you have scrolling bars interfering with a clean and clear image on your screen, then this is probably the most likely solution to your problem. An amazingly inexpensive fix.
