Great highly portable panel.
This panel is everything I expected. The panel is light weight, has a heavy duty cover, and is easy to transport and store. The output is as advertised. The panel is extremely portable and can be used everywhere.Regarding previous reviewers comments about the panels not having a reverse current diode: This is not a problem if you use a quality controller. My Morningstar controller has reverse current protection built in so no need to to worry about draining the battery at night. Most good controllers have this feature built in.I tested my panel while completely covering 4 of the cells and the voltage only dropped one tenth of a volt. This is excellent. The panel wiring is heavy enough to carry the full current to whatever connector.you use to attach solar panel extension wires to your controller.

Mixed opinion on this one had to take a chance a couple extra dollars would have been smarter
I bought the 100 watt because of the weight and ability to choose my controller prefer MPPT. I have a renolgy 100watt with PWM controller and nice storage travel bag. But it is really heavy and not crazy about the legs or controller or price.IPros : This controller is light about a pound. thin . Good size . I tested it on a cloudy day and was getting 17.5 volts that's very good the surface has a matt finish and when you fold it has handles and really transportable..Cons : comes with bare wires 18-20 agw way to thin. And really short approx 3-4 ft no connection box for wiring which means if you are rough on things like me I'll be ending up having to solder it back and I don't do solder. If you take into consideration adding the followingreverse current diodes a mustAdd male/female MC4 terminalsAdd 10- or 12 AGW cable to your controller hopefully you don't leave a MPPT controller out in the elements although with this panel I might use a waterproof MPPT controller that was pretty inexpensive and also had crap skinny wiring sealed onto it . (looks like a match made in chinna ) add all that up plus your time and laborI could have spent $20 more and got all the necessary accessories. If it sold for a $1 a watt $99 shipped i would be much happier and give it 5 stars the cells are top notchAlthough I have not seen any suitcase style panels as light and transportable as this oneAdd on after one week of use :I have several different panels these panels I now used the sunpower folding 100 watt panel in different weather conditions and location. I added a diode to eliminate drainage of the battery at night .IMPORTANT: I don't know what the diode is called that is put in at the time the panel is manufactured . It's purpose is to bypass cells that are in the shade ( ill call it a bypass diode ) these can't be added after market .when this panel is in full sun and cloudy it performs pretty well the seller won't say if it is mon or poly but in sun you get 15.-18volts If a solid defined shadow like a branch blocks 2 or 3 cells the voltage will drop to practically nothing 2-3 watts or register low on a yeti 400 this sucks big time!!!My Renogy,Ecoworthy, Instapark and Aleko suitcases or flexible panels donot do this. A shadow may cause some decrease but not an 80-90% drop. it is obvious the other products were built with some sort ofi pass diode Of the 6 different brands I have purchased HQST is the best performer

So far very very happy. Have seen my charge controller showing over 6 amps (briefly) in cold temps with strong sun. Mid 4's amps with some haze in the air. Incredibly small, portable and well built for 100 watts. You do need to wire it up yourself to your own charge controller. I spliced a 3 prong 120 Volt (intended use) female to the solar panel, then a 3 prong male to the charge controller. Only reason I chose 3 prong is that that's what Home Depot had available. This way I just need an extension chord (12 gauge) of whatever length I choose to plug in to place the panel wherever the sun is shining best while my camper stays in the shade. I got 25 amp hours average on 2 partly cloudy days. I'm impressed. I recommend.

The wires coming from the solar panel are much too thin, you are almost afraid the weight of the MC4 connectors will be too much for them. If this has better wires and included MC4 connectors it would be a much better product. How much more would that add to the cost of manufacturing? $2 -$3 maybe. I am actually worried about those wires and thinking of trying the Suaoki MC4 Connector Solar Panel Adapter Cable to DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm for Portable Generator, 41" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071YP7X4F/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 and connecting to the 18V Dc output of the panel and hope it works.Update: Unless you just want to charge a smartphone or a laptop don't waste your time with this, there are better products out there if you are serious about solar. If it had thicker wires with MC4 connectors it would be a better product.

Super lightweight & thin
I love how this Sunpower folding solar panel is super lightweight, very thin, and quick to setup/take down. The only downside is that in full sunlight, the panel only outputs 3.1 amps at 13.3 volts (~42 watts). This compares poorly to the Renogy Eclipse 100w solar suitcase which outputs 4.78 amps at 13.6 volts (~62 watts) in identical sun conditions. Not Great, but for the money very good!
I measured 20.5 volts, and then measure shorted current at 4.98 amps. I was hoping shorted current would make the 5.5 amps, but no way there. As it gets warm the amps continue to drop and so does the voltage. After just a few minutes in the sun, I was getting 18 volts and at best 4.7 amps. I will do some testing later with load, but I guess that at best it will produce about 70 watts. Not horrible, but I was hoping for a little better. However on the plus side it is very light and works extremely well for portability. Its a good size too - not too big. Over all for the price it works very well and I am happy with it. It will do nicely for what I wanted it for and I would consider buying another. The 5 volt USB and the 18 volt jack are added pluses.I wished it had an option with telescopic legs to hold it for maximum sunlight.
