Good socket bank
I’ve been a fan of Meross gear for a while, starting with my smart home journey in the Apple ecosystem. In the last 12 months I’ve moved over to Home Assistant but my Meross gear is still some of the best I’ve got integrated.I like the strong grip the sockets have on any plugs inserted as it lessens the chance of a poor connection, or accidental unplugging. I also like the “it just works” app control and integration with smart home environments. My only negative feedback on the product is the arrangement of the sockets means any “upward” aligned transformers block out one of the other available sockets, but with a little forward planning that’s easily overcome. This particular product started resetting randomly (even when used as a dumb strip) in December 2024 after 1.75 years of daily wear and tear, and it was replaced like for like without issue. I’ll be continuing to use my Meross kit for a long time to come, and thank the CS team, especially Molly, for the assistance when something went wrong, long after many other companies would have stopped supporting the customer!

The best plugs for HomeKit
For the price, these plugs have to be the best to use with HomeKit, exactly what I needed. They work seamlessly with Siri and in the Home app. Takes literally 1 minute to add to your system and conveniently sized to fit in most sockets without getting in the way. A fraction of the price of some of the better known brands, but when they just work, why waste your money with that. I have over 10 of these dotted around the house with various appliances now turned “smart”. Being able to turn the kettle on before going downstairs, setting automations for an extractor fan in the bathroom, warming the bed with a heated blanket for just enough time for it to be nice and toasty, or having a fan stay on for a bit on the warmer days There are many different uses and I’ve not had one fail me yet. Will recommend these to anyone in the market.

Serious technical know-how required to set up, and then they still don’t work!
I would have returned these plugs and maybe give a more generous rating but my return window closed. The problem is they just don’t work! I’m very good with tech but I have not been able to make these work, except for one, for about a minute. Setup is much too complex for this kind of product. I’ve been messing about in my router settings because they don’t work on modern protocols, and even after that they just don’t work. Nothing useful is this hard to set up. I assure you I followed the instructions, and the videos, and messed with my router just to make them work. They don’t work. Good idea, it just doesn’t work. I wish they did! Even if they did work you require a fairly confident knowledge of IT ‘stuff’. It was a frustrating and miserable experience trying to make these plugs work. I spent a lot of time with them. They don’t work for an above average user so more modest tech people will have significant issues. There is no way my Mum could set these up, for example. This technology needs significantly refined software and a clear, step by step instruction manual. I should not need to change settings in my router just because the produce can’t cope with the modern world. Note they don’t tell you that when you buy them! There is a lot wrong with these plugs and I hope this feedback is representative of an average consumer… even though I’m way above average when it comes to technology. Please try a lot harder, otherwise you are just selling landfill

Useful and simple to set up
I set up a pack of four of these using the Apple Home app today: Open the app, add new device, scan the QR-code on the selected plug, wait a minute or so, set room and name, another short wait, and all done. The only tiny issue I had was that I set up two of these in different sockets/outlets to their intended ones, as these were hard to access (hence the need for these plugs): When I came to use them, I found that although the device connected through the plug remained on, the indication of this on the app would go off after a few seconds. Remedied by deleting the device in the Home app, placing the plug in the intended outlet, and then performing various contortions to scan the QR-code when re-adding it. All sorted.Very happy with these plugs, and have now ordered another four 😊UPDATE: After adding a device, you can scan the QR-code on the smart-plug before putting it in the intended socket, and installation will proceed as normal. This makes life a lot easier!
