I’ve now bought this a few times, each as part of a gift for kids. I try not to buy and endorse chemical, food coloring laden crap - but kids like stuff like this so it’s always a balancing act and a real effort to *try* and give them something they want but without giving them all those things I don’t want to poison them with. After much searching, I was surprised to only find 1 food color source in this product- BLUE 1 - which I don’t like at all, but it’s far less than most unless I go organic but they don’t make stuff that looks like sushi! Anyway, this uses primarily fruit and vegetable juice for color, paprika, turmeric and also beeswax. Not bad for candy.Bonus, everyone says that all the components actually taste good and it is a nice display of bento work. I saw other reviews complained about the pieces having shifted in shipping. Lighten up! I get that’s not as nice a presentation (and it hasn’t happened to any that I’ve received) but when you open it you simply right the pieces in their spots and voila! Problem solved...Ingredients List:sugar, glucose syrup, high fructose corn syrup, wheat flour, corn starch, water, gelatin, contains less than 2 percent of: sorbitol, dextrose, concentrated grape juice, glycerin, citric acid, vegetable oil (palm and coconut oil), natural and artificial flavors, food starch-modified (potato), malic acid, beeswax, lactic acid, colors (caramel, paprika oleoresin, carmine, turmeric), sodium citrate, mono- and diglycerides, pectin, fruit and vegetable juices for color, fumaric acid, ascorbic acid, tocopherols, blue 1, carnauba wax, sheanut oil.

You'll notice items from the Japanese gummy box used as decorative items in my 7 y.o. granddaughter's creation of an "Insane Pools: Off the Deep End" pool plus koi pond. She had lots of fun picking and choosing items to include items to be used. The only negative, per her, was that the gummies tasted "funny." She's used to the German gummy taste and these do have a different taste. It's not bad, just different. My take: Very original, interesting, great snacks and fun gift. (Rather pricey.)

My daughter loves Japanese candy and I thought this would be a wonderful gift for her.In the package they are so beautiful and well done but once opened we were highly disappointed. All of the candies were so hard we couldn't chew/bite through them. You could probably drive a nail or two with them they so hard.They make a pretty counter decoration but no way we can actually eat them.

Totally melted(?) and can’t even get package lid off. We have had cool temperatures so this is not the result of extreme heat here upon delivery. Disappointed as this was part of a young girls birthday party.

Let me say right away that for the amount of money paid, you can have a much bigger bag of candies to enjoy, if it's what you're looking for. In such case, this isn't for you.That said, the presentation and original idea of this tray totally worth its price in my opinion. This is more targeted toward people like me who enjoy the uniqueness & visual presentation vs the quantity. It also make a great gift to my sushi lovers friends as well.Probably because I ordered those during the winter, the candies did not arrive melted at all, and still all in good shape as well. They all tasted as expected, with a lot of different variety of flavors too.
