New Society Publishers Building Natural Ponds: Create a Clean, Algae-free Pond without Pumps, Filters, or Chemicals

This is a great book with lots of well-presented information on the how and why of building natural ponds. it's full of practical instructions and advice, with excellent photos, illustrations, and diagrams. I've read it twice and will be continuing to consult it as I build my own backyard pond for the local frogs and toads this coming spring!

The book is very informative about the building and enhancement part. It also covers the regeneration area very well. I was disappointed that there is no mention of the pumping and aeration requirement, it also does not touch the subject of electrical requirement.

In realtà l'ossigeno estratto dall'acqua non è sufficiente nemmeno per la funzione respiratoria degli organi sommersi, per la quale viene utilizzato l'ossigeno prodotto nella fotosintesi, che diffonde fino alle radici attraverso l'aerenchima di cui sono ampiamente dotate le piante acquatiche. L'ossigeno in eccesso viene rilasciato nell'acqua, ciò vale soprattutto per le sommerse, perciò dette ossigenanti. Ma la svista nulla toglie all'utilità della lettura. L'autore chiarisca.

This is a short book, but it's packed with so many great tips, and everything you need to know to get started. Highly recommend reading as you're planning your pond. I wish I would have read this before I started digging, but I got it just in time to avoid a lot of rookie mistakes.
