Sadly not a standalone like the others. But it does provide additional heros and a new mechanic in the form of demons to up the challenge

It sadly does not expand the base game. It instead gives you a few more heros, and adds demons to make your games harder. You can use these heros and demons with either game.

Can you permanently mix these into the original game's or the expansion game's deck?

Yes. But only if ur comfortable with the game to do that. Like you being used to the games rules and game flow.
