At the time I bought the 1st one (2010) the warranty was 5 years. One of the controllers malfunctioned twice during that time. I called for advice about how I might repair them or request a new controller. Both times, they just offered to replace the whole mattress pad with a new one, no squabbling at all. No costs, no need to send the old one back. Keep your warranty card w/the phone number on it. I love this mattress pad. I'm on my 4th one since 2010.

Where does the cord plug in to the pad, on the side or on the top?

Do the control numbers light up so you don't have to turn a light on to reset temperature if needed in the middle of the night?
