Easy Use Pet Lifter
The Pfaff Medical Dog Rear Lifting Carrier works fine when the animal needs to be helped up from the floor. It also works well to help get the animal go up and down a ramp and into a vehicle. However, the handle is too short to use this lifter for walking very far, especially if the animal has major neurological problems and it's hindquarters collapse. This carrier is well made, sturdy, and easy to put on. It should come with directions to give the user an idea of how tight it should be, the length of time it can be worn, and how it should be cleaned. My Lab is having a very difficult time not only getting up but keeping her legs underneath her., so I use the Pfaff carrier mainly in the house. Outdoors, I use a full body harness made by Blue Dog that allows me to provide full support, front and rear, when necessary.

Good product - didn't work for our dog w/ DM
This item is well made and seems like it would be a great help for pets with mobility issues, but it didn't work for our dog. He has DM or something like it, and can't control his back legs well. But this harness seems to put uncomfortable pressure on him - he snarls at me when I put it on him - this is the only time he complains about his condition. It also makes it impossible for him to walk - seems to squeeze his back legs together so he can't position them far enough apart to balance. Again - seems like a good product. Just writing this to help people decide whether it's the right thing for your dog's condition. If your dog won't tolerate any pressure on his hind quarters, this might not work.

Well made and my dog finds it comfortable
Beautifully made. Soft neoprene with zero rub around legs. Unfortunately ours is a bit loose. I suspect I should have ordered down knowing neoprene has some give but would also recommend manufacturers to increase Velcro area. My dog slid into it and did not mind it at all. She was able to potty without any issue. Will try to retrofit with if exchange is cost prohibitive. FYI- I have a 80lb labradoodle who is 13 and ordered a large (medium would have fit her wasting rear end better/more snuggly)

Excellent product and service
They have great customer service. I accidentally ordered the wrong size and my dog is paralyzed from the waist down. He sent me a replacement for free, but I was having problems with my mail and we were unable to locate the tracking number. My dog really needed the brace so that he can wear it and use the bathroom without falling in it. So I just ordered another one. Once I received it, the refunded me the money so that I didn't have to pay twice. Very nice company and very nice brace. The large fits my boxer perfectly. He can potty without falling and its easy to just leave on him. He seems to like it a lot. Thank you so much!!

AMAZING
My 85lb Lab had a seizure and couldn't control his back legs, leading to knuckling and falling down. We tried another lifting harness that dug into his chest and slid back and hurt his boy parts. We then tried a wheelchair which was a disaster. We were feeling defeated, because there are so few products for large dogs that let them go to the bathroom without removing it. We decided to give this harness a try. We purchased a size large for him, and when it arrived, it was pretty simple and straight forward to put on him. I immediately noticed that I wasn't blowing out my bicep muscles to hold the straps and assist him. He was able to pee and poo with it on, and it's just the right amount of soft and strong, so as not to cut into the skin, but allows for full support of the back end if needed. I believe this is the absolute best product on the market right now for a large, male dog that needs a fair amount of support to help walk outside.

She has loved and served us for 13 years
The dog lifting carrier is well made and fit well , but it just wasn't right for our dog. She is a 13 y/o yellow Lab named Maggie. She has arthritis in her spine and it's pressing on nerves in her lower back. She can barely use her right rear leg. That's what makes it so hard for her to get up from a lying position.. The lift helped us very much but for some reason it made walking even harder for Maggie. So we ended up taking it off and picking her up the hard way. She has loved and served us for 13 years, The least we can do is serve her now , when she needs us the most.

Works well
My German Shepard had DM. Once he couldn't walk to relieve himself this was a must. Unfortunately once he was introduced to the harness (within a couple weeks) he couldn't even walk without it. Sadly he wasn't with us a couple months later.

Works great, but be careful of the handles slipping
This is a lifesaver. I have a bad back, and lifting my >60lb dog by hand was difficult. This harness goes on and off easily, and is comfortable enough to leave on for car trips. The handles adjust to just the right height to get her paws off the ground without bending over or having to lift too high. My girl can pee and poop with it on with ease.My only issue is the adjustment clips for the handles. They need 'teeth', a cam, or something to make them grip better. I've had one strap come loose while walking my pup, fortunately the other strap held until I could fix it, but if both slipped at the same time, it could be disastrous.

A Good Harness but could be better with small adjustments by Makers
My GSD has CDRM and needed something that I could help her get about the house and for toiletting, this harness certainly does the job with the added bonus of being comfortable enough to leave on her. I am disabled and was struggling to get her up and outside, this harness makes the job an awful lot easier! I would measure your dog very carefully though, I ordered a Large after reading the size guide and measuring my girl but it is too big around her tummy making it a little awkward when helping her even though I've adjusted the straps, as a previous review suggests, if the velcro was moved a little further across the harness it would give the option of being able to tighten it a bit more. Washes up beautifully and dries very quickly!UPDATE:- Please measure your dog EXTREMELY CAREFULLY!! My poor girl ended up rubbed raw inside her hind legs which must of caused her a lot of pain but she was a very stoical dog and didn't even whimper....sadly I lost my girl shortly after buying this harness, I did leave it on her for a couple of days near the end and I'm sure this is when the rubbing started so I advise you NOT to leave this harness on your dog for more than a few hours at a time!!

So far, so good
I am only giving 4 stars purely because I have not used the harness yet. I bought it for my Goldie just in case as she has cruciate ligament problems and recently had a spell where she found it difficult to get up and I had to help her. So I want to be prepared. So this review is purely on how the harness looks and feels. Firstly I thought it more on the expensive side, but I bought it from the positive reviews. Neatly packaged and prompt delivery. It feels very soft to touch, like neoprene similar to a wet suit material. Two holes for both back legs, nice wide belly support with a flap Velcro’s over the dog’s back with a double handle which can also be velcro’d together. A few comments I read was that the holes for the legs had rubbed their dog’s legs raw. I can’t comment on this as not yet tried. But all I can say is the holes are quite large and very soft. They also appear to stretch when pulled. So all in all, I am very pleased with the harness. Although my vet did say a wide belt or a towel would have been a lot cheaper! But I do not regret buying this harness as I feel I am prepared now to help my Goldie when she struggles. The harness also feels soft enough to leave on your dog when resting. Just a thought. My Goldie is a female and would be able to wee & poo with the harness on. I’m not sure about male dogs though, the belly support might get in the way of their weeing appendage, if you know what I mean. But I could be totally wrong. From what I can tell of this harness, I would definitely recommend it.

German Shepherd owners be cautious with the sizes
German Shepherd owners be cautious with the sizes. I purchased a large and its no good. I measured my dog's waist as shown in the picture, and I measured his hips as well. But somehow this harness is nowhere close to fitting my dog. Even if I cut bigger holes it still wouldn't fit.For it to fit my German shepherd the leg holes would have to be bigger than the harness it's self. Also the velcro would have to be about 2.5" longer on each side for it to fasten shut.I listened to the reviews of other buyers who said they had a big German Shepherd, they said this large harness was in fact too big for their dog.Well I hate to sound insulting but they really do not have a big German Shepherd. It seems that I have a big German Shepherd and they have a Collie.By the measurements given, and by the reviews written this harness should have fitted my dog. But it really doesn't.I'm not even sure a XXL would fit my dog.I have to be fair, the harness is well made. And the delivery was quick. That's why I give 3*But I've purchased two different harnesses now, and neither of them have been anywhere close to fitting my dog. Therefore I'm out of pocket and a little annoyed. If your Shepherd truly is big, I would advise you to go for XXL you would probably have more chance of it fitting.

Best out of 3!!
Great item. Well made in soft neoprene.have tried 3 other harnesses and this is best for my arthritic springer. No seams around legs so if necessary legs holes could be made larger with simple use of scissors. Soft support under belly as opposed to narrow pelvic band on other harnesses which impeded on lumps she has in this area. No problem with toileting either.Adjustable hanfles. Could have got away with a smaller size in retrospect but have added another strip of velco which had made it smaller. Excellent item

life saver!
Fantastic item, strong and durable. Really easy to use, looks comfortable for my dog to wear. Lots of people have asked where it was brought from. It was really helpful physio for my dog too when his back legs became weak as it helped keep his muscles strong. Very handy to help manoeuvre him outdoors for toileting. I couldn't have got by without it. Well worth the money!
