Great loading device
This works perfectly to load a break barrel pellet pistol. It holds 18 pellets and is able to seat them one at a time into the breach. I'm buying a second one to be able to have twice as many pellets ready to go.

Very Handy Yes, Indispensible No
Have put about 40 pellets through this. Is it indispensable? Probably not, but maybe. Is it convenient enough to warrant buying a couple? Probably. It sure beats having some open container sitting next to you as you're trying to snipe pesky birds or squirrels. However, if you manage to have some kind of handy pouch on your belt, that is easy to remove a pellet from, then you probably can do without it.The way it works, in case you haven't figured it out...Hold the pen across your palm with the clip end near your thumb.Your fingers curl around the pen and hold it, while your thumb slides the clip down, ejecting a pellet. The trick is to only slide it down far enough to eject just one. It's not smart enough to only eject one per click.Weaknesses:* The clip thing can come out the back end, which would allow the pellets to come out as well. There's no lock to keep it in. There are notches that hold it in place, so it's not like it's going to easily come out, but you wouldn't want to just chuck it in your bag without thinking about what's around it. I did keep it in my pocket while I was standing there plinking, but I always felt better when it was pointed down (i.e. clip up). If it was upside down, and the clip caught on something in my pocket as I was removing it, it could easily come out and spill the contents. Shoot, you may just be able to wrap a rubber band around the back end, which will prevent the clip from coming out.* The notches that help retain the clip are not as far apart as some pellets, so one simple click may not be enough to push out one pellet. This lack of synchronization means it's a little hard to know when the pellet is actually dispensed. Once, I pushed how I thought was hard enough to seat the pellet into the breech, and I had actually dispensed two: one into the breech, and the next one was far enough past the retaining clip/holder that it fell out. With a little more practice, I was able to reliably get the next pellet's nose into the breech, where all it needed was a quick jab with my thumb to seat it properly.I read other reviews about flimsy construction. I think it's solid enough. I would dismiss them.

A "Must Have" for break-barrel air rifles & pistols.
Update 7/12: Watch your pricing on this. Bought my original 2 at $9.92 ea. Wanted 3 more (so I can hit the field with 75-plus rounds & of different types) and found them listed on Amazon again at over $15 each! Now that's a rip-off! Kept searching Amazon & eventually found product again at 8.99 plus $6.95 shipping (total for all 3), so I ordered another three. After a month of use (I shoot about 200-300 rounds/week), I LOVE this product. Buy it! Worth every penny. See my original review below.Original Review: Just used the two Pellet Pens I received today thru' Amazon; will be purchasing another three. The loading time saved and the loading ease & convenience provided is, to me, worth the cost (I don't care what someone makes on an item if it suits my needs: this does). The Pen is made of heavy plastic which I believe will last for years unless it is stepped on, etc. There are no springs to rust or mechanical parts to jam or break. The only worry I can see is losing the slide that seals the pen & advances the pellets. Easy solution: don't loose it.I have large fingers and I always end up dropping pellets to the ground while loading; even if found I won't use a dirtied pellet for fear of damaging the rifle barrel. The Pellet Pen is easily filled indoors & I loose nothing dropped. Once outdoors, I can load my rifle much more quickly and easily with no fumbling. The Pen holds 16 heavy weight pellets such as the Crosman 10.5 gr.Premier Domed and 19 alloy pellets such as the Gamo PBA Raptor. The lack of a pocket clip is surprising and would be a great addition to the convenience of this product. Overall: highly recommended.

Great for loading single pellets in air rifles and pistols.
Very easy to load and use and it keeps me from fumbling with pellets while loading air rifles and pistols. I bought both the .177 and the .22 pellet pens.

Expected better, but it works OK...
I picked this up for the convenience of easy transport and access vs a twist-top tin of pellets rattling around in my pocket.I had higher expectations based on reviews but I ended up performing a few mods to get it to a satisfactory level of function. Here were the issues and how I addressed them:- the molding flash internally at the dispensing end was cutting/damaging pellets when dispensed- the rubber sheathing at the dispensing end was too loose to provide appropriate retention and I was getting double feeds when dispensing. (Using just to carry/dispense for an 880, not typical break action like most users)- the clock action of the dispensing thumb deal wasn’t positive enough and it could come right out if invertedI addressed the issues by:- trimming molding flash w exactly until it stopped cutting/damaging pellets- put an o ring on the rubber sheathing where those retention arms were to increase the tension- prepared the little detention arm in same way as other reviewer by sticking in some card stockAfter the mods the pellet pen works as I expected and serves its purpose for transport and easy access.

Works Great
This is an easy way to carry extra pellets without having to handle them to see which end is going into the chamber. It's a little difficult to coordinate how to use it at first, but after using it a few times, it tends to become a "normal way to reload the pellet gun"... I'll probably order another one and keep two laying beside the back door to make "chipmunk control" go a little smoother.

A must for pellet rifle shooters !!!
Absolute must if you shoot a pellet rifle -- way better than trying to get one at a time, out of the can - makes your shoot much more enjoyable
