Great TV for the Price $$$
After several days of looking at TVs, I seriously considered getting a Samsung or Sony TV until I ran across the Vizio M8 Series. Little known fact, this TV is not available at all retailers and I've only seen it advertised on Amazon or Walmart.com. From initial setup, the TV looks great and even comes with something called FreeTV powered by PLUTO. These channels that are included are mainly channels that you would have to pay extra for with your cable company.Quality:The build quality of this TV is fairly solid with some metal and plastics, but it's not super flimsy like a lower end TV would be. The TV weighs 75 pounds so it's a mammoth to lift and mount on the wall (Thankfully I had my better half help).Picture:I played with the picture settings and found that the Calibrated Dark mode looked best for general viewing and Game mode was great for playing Video Games. Tested with PvZ Battle for Neighborville and the quality was superb!Remote Control:The remote control is a little larger than I'm used to. I'm used to using an Amazon Fire Stick Remote for all of my viewing so it may take me a bit to get used to the larger controller.Apps:There are a multitude of apps pre-loaded from Vizio. The only thing that I found missing was Noggin (because I have little ones). Other than that, you're covered with the typical Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. Conclusion:This is definitely a great TV to go with. I wasn't looking to spend over $1000 and found that this TV fit right in my price range. Definitely Recommend!

Great budget TV, only concern is motion
Bought as 2nd and budget TV. Colors and picture quality is great. My only concern is this TV has not motion interpolation and has only 60 Hz native screen. If your eyes are more familiar with real/native 120 Hz panels (like me, my second TV is 120 Hz Samsung Q7FN) you might feel like a little flickering/judder with a 60 Hz panel. Because of this, motion is not good enough comparing with the other competitors. My previous 2nd TV was a 3 years old budget 55” Sharp LBU591U Roku TV and I’m thinking that TV’s motion was a little better than this Vizio M8 series. For gaming and next-gen consoles, it’s a good budget TV with a some of next-gen HDMI 2.1 features like a VRR. SmartCast is ehh, not good or not bad.Buy the way, my unit came with a dead pixels, stuck pixels and a minor corner damage on the back panel. Check your unit once open the box make sure everything is fine, otherwise contact with Amazon immediately if TV has any problem. Amazon is replacing with a new one or refunding.

Amazing TV, but Smartcast OS is meh
The tv is great. Coming from a TCL 4-Series, this tv is a major upgrade. The colors are vibrant and the screen gets insanely bright in a good way. The only draw back is the Smartcast OS. It works okay and doesn't lag, but coming from a Roku, it has a clunky feeling and the only way to watch HBO Max is by using my phone and casting it. With that said the casting works well. I feel like for the price, I should have a native app for HBO Max though. Sound is not great, buy a soundbar. It doesn't bother me too much, because I've heard worse speakers from more expensive TVs so for the price I can't complain.Gaming is Awesome on this TV as well just be sure to calibrate your screen using your game system's HDR calibration tool to get the best image.

Worth the money
Arrived in a reasonable amount of time and in good working order. No noticeable latency when playing on my PS4, The picture is excellent out of the box, even better after a bit of dicking around with the settings. The colors are saturated and the blacks are inky. HDR is the real upgrade for me personally. Got it in time for the CFP and nfl playoffs., and it performed great. The smart tv features aren’t the best in the world but more than adequate. The UI is responsive and the remote is familiar to anyone who has bought a tv recently. My only real gripe is the legs of the stand are super wide. You’ll need a table almost as wide as the TVs itself to put this on. Consider wall mounting this. All in all I got a great deal for my money.

Started flickering after 2 years
The picture was never great. I like the Vizio interface and remote… older Vizios seemed to be really good quality. But the previous one I had stopped working after 2 years. This one is flickering and has inconsistent lighting - just 2 years after buying it.Maybe it’s time to buy other brands…

Overall decent tv
Box came looking pretty shoddy was expecting a broken tv but it was ok.. wish I would have waited a month and could have saved $100.. overall a good picture after messing with settings for a couple of days.. for some reason when I turn the roku hdmi on the picture flashes on and off 3xs no matter what input I put it on? Not sure on that issue? I have a soundbar hooked to it so that makes a big difference sound wise.. I hope it ends up being a good tv?! I researched forever and ended with this one... this tv just came out in Oct 2020 so the review that said he had it for 2 yrs and it died is not an accurate review.. fyi

Great TV at a great price
Vizio is a very good TV priced reasonably. Picture is bright in all light. Easy to set up. If you don't want to have the "smart" parts it is easy to skip ahead and connect to a cable. We have another Vizio and have been very satisfied with it. While the TV is great, shipping was not. It was sold by Amazon with "scheduled delivery" which gave a specific day it would be delivered. On that day the shipper called and said it was delayed. I talked to an agent who seemed unconcerned. I called Amazon Customer Support and they were very concerned and helpful. "scheduled delivery" is not worth it.
