Dink Killer
Got a 2000 size paired it with a Shimano Sensilite rod. Drag feels good and produces a nice click, reel is super smooth, nice full metal reel. Casting goes pretty well, with the sensilite you can really whip it out there. Looks on any Daiwa reel are pretty unbeatable, but this silver in particular looks very good. Good bang for your buck, and very good reel for lightweight fishing.

Love it! Very smooth, excellent reel--but where's the on/off switch for antireverse?
After wearing out another ultralight 1000 class reel for one of my favorite ultra light rods, I put this Diawa on and spooled up. The mechanism is ultra smooth. Reeling feels great, nice balance. With all the other knockoff brands touting 7+1 ball bearings, you might be unimpressed with Diawa's mention of 1 (ONE) ball bearing-- well, don't be! This is smooth as silk. Bearing quality and fit/finish of Diawa reels is legendary, and this reel holds up to the heritage. Sure, in larger reels you might want two bearings for the handle, a couple or three more for the shafts, to really have a long lasting smooth reel, but in a tiny ultralight class reel, it's not nearly as important--to keep this reel in the attractive price point, a single bearing is all you need. If compared, side by side to a knockoff, you'd swear this Diawa must have 5 bearings too!I would like to see the spool have greater capacity. It's fairly shallow. This is fine, but as you snap off bits of line, a few feet at a time, you'll deplete the reel. I like having a little more capacity, so that if I lose, say, a 30 foot chunk a time or two, from a snag or something, that you don't have to go immediately respool up new line. I fish alot, and snags happen, you lose line. Not a major complaint. There is a clever feature of the spool though, that takes advantage of the thin spooling. There's a bright red stripe on the spool. As you fill the spool, the red stripe nearly becomes invisible. But, as you spool out line, the red stripe becomes more and more visible. This gives you a faster visual confirmation on how much line you have out, in case you happen to latch into a substantial fish and he's taking all your line. The oddity for this reel though, for me, is the complete lack of an anti-reverse control switch. You know, the lever, slide, button, that every spinning reel I've ever had always has? It's allows you to use back pedal reeling to control resistance instead of relying upon the drag mechanism. Typically, in one mode, you can't back reel (anti-reverse) , and in the other mode, free spool. This reel doesn't have one! How critical is it? In all honesty, probably not a big deal, as I rarely ever use the lever except by accident on my other reels. Know what I mean?I will mention though, this anti-reverse is SUPER INSTANT--like, no slop at all, stops, doesn't move, and feels very nice. I don't think I've ever seen a reel in this price point that has as good of an Instant anti-reverse.

Smooth operation and good value.
I wish the spool was a little larger, but I only ordered a size 2000 so my fault I guess. Seems to work very smoothly with a good drag system.

Daiwa Crossfire LT Spinning Reel
Daiwa Crossfire LT Spinning Reel Is such a nice reel, I now have three of them. Smooth drag and retrieval. Using it on a 7’ medium spinning rod. Great product, great price.

Smooth
Smooth action.. 20 lb braid , cast beautiful... But you can feel the budgetness when reeling a decent size fish such as medium black fish and fluke.

Not for lakes
Very shallow spool, which lets it cast lighter lures farther, yes, but the line capacity is limited so you really can't cast too far. Fishing rivers however it works great, no worry about getting spooled and the drag feels good. If looking for an ultra-light reel, this is great for the price.

Excellent reel for trout and panfish
This is a great, no frills little reel with a classy finished look. It is light, sturdy, and incredibly smooth. It doesn't hold enough line for catfish or carp, but has perfomed admirably on some respectable stripers. Highly recommended!
