For anyone who owns or loves the light-heavyweight Harley Davidson Sportster this book is a must have. A fairly thorough and even handed treatment to the history of the XL series of motorcycles that have kept HD afloat since 1957. You can see in Bill Davidson's eyes that while he definitely is a BT kinda guy he knows it is the Sportster that's made him very, very wealthy. Personally I love the lighter, more agile, helluva lot more reliable XL. So much so I've had the opportunity own a BT or an 883 and you can guess which one I one. Proof enough of what better IMO. This book helps explain why many others feel the same way as I do.

Very good book on the different Sportster models with excellent pictures and a good text

This is a very thorough, informative and entertaining history of Sportsters from their inception through 1994, and a must-read for anyone who loves Sportsters. As someone who is considering buying a Sportster for his/her first Harley, however, it wasn't much help because the latest models covered were 20 years ago. Despite that, I found the book to be a fascinating read.

If you love Sportsters, like I do, you will love this book. It is well written, well illustrated, and fun to read. Not the most modern book, the most recent Sportsters are 4 years old now and not in this book by the time it was published, but nonetheless a good history.

This is a reprint of the original release from this author with a different picture on the cover print looks bad and the pictures are of poor quality the original is a much nicer book to own ........

Poor value for money. Irrespective of content it was put together with cheap looking paper and childish print. Item was therefore returned. For the price not worth considering.
