We have one of those steel compost bins in the kitchen. Every once in a while it needs a new carbon filter in the lid. You can generally find pre-cut carbon filters that will fit the lid, but they are a little expensive. We also have stove hood filters that use a stainless steel mesh filter, but do little to alleviate the smells of cooking.With this large 16"x48" carbon filter sheet, I was able to cut several round replacement filters for our compost bin (and a couple of extras for the in-laws), plus carbon filters for our stove hood. And I still had enough leftover for a replacement carbon filter for our Fellowes air purifier. The material cuts easily with a decent pair of scissors and does a good job preventing and removing odors.

I stuck this behind all of the openings on my Qidi Q1 Pro 3D printer to keep all of the fumes at bay. Worked like a charm!

Good price lasts a long time

I have been using this item for 6 years and found that it is the best replacement for the original. By buying the large piece of material it allows for the cutting to match both of my air cleaners. Easy yo cut and it fits just like the pre made versions.

Both of my neighbors smoke cigarettes and I’m on a crusade to prevent toxic smoke from getting into my home. I use these to custom cut a layer of filtration between fans bringing in air and windows, as well as smoke coming in from the pipes under my sink. While it’s annoying that I have to mitigate the impact of toxic smoke in my home , I’m glad there are options like this that actually work.

I have an old air cleaner, no filters available. This carbon fabric lets me cut the size it needs. I keep the rest sealed to prevent deactivation.

My rating of "5" for "Easy to Install" may seem nonsense for some readers. However, this is, by definition, a "Cut-to-size" product. You really need to cut it to size and install (And there is nothing wrong with it).The original charcoal filter for my microwave oven is a joke. It probably covers 20% of the air outlet (If that). And that is, by design, installed at the outlet level.So what did I do? I cut this one to size and installed underneath the microwave (On top of the stove cooktop). So, this one filters the odour right at the inlet level. Cooking meat or even spicy stuff like Sucuk (You can search and see what it is) does not result in fumes and odour in the kitchen / living room area.Highly recommended.
