Awesome pads!
Running 50mm Carbons and these are awesome brake pads. I tried Koolstop Salmons and they blew. I had the shop put the Salmons on and maybe they jacked the setup. I put the SwissStops on and slightly toed them in. They don't squeel at all, I feel confident on my stopping and the wear looks good. I have about 200miles on these and look like I should get 1k easy. I will write a followup on how long they last. I'm in the Seattle area so I have lots of hills to try and stop on.Update: I promised a update on these pads and here it is. The pads have about 2.5k miles on them and I still have plenty of wear left on them. The stopping power when dry are awesome, no issues, I've locked up my rear a few times and the front grabs well and modulates pretty good. Once my wheels get a buildup of rubber/dirt they do squeal a bit but not too obnoxious, and every other carbon I've heard has about the same level of annoyance. I've gotten to know some good cyclist who just state "welcome to carbon rims". I've read some reviews about wearing issues but I've had no issues and I've definitely put some miles on them. Not sure how those guys ride or their terrain, I've stated I live in Seattle and have plenty of hills to test them on. So maybe I don't like to brake much? Group rides: Chilly Hilly, STP, Gigantic Ride Festivle (recommend) and Tour de Blast (highly rec). Pads have seen some country side.....

Not all made-for-carbon brake pads are the same...
Swisstop FlashPro (Shim/SRAM Road) Brake Pads I purchased this set of SwissStop FlashPro Black Prince brake pads on the advice of a cycling buddy who also owns a Williams carbon wheelset. Those "recommended/authorized for warranty" blue ceramic brake pads that come with the Williams carbon rim brake wheels just don't cut it! Not only is the braking distance sub-par, but after the initial break in period, they screech/howl like an agonizing wild animal in loathing pain! I can see the heads of drivers in traffic turn and look agasp, ready to dial 9-1-1 (and yes, those blue brake pads were properly toed in, front and back). So, I received my new set of SwissStop Black Prince brake pads, toed them in with a 2mm card as usual, and went out the next day on a 50-miler ride with my cycling group. Not a single squeal, even on the harder braking during downhill runs. And I was one of those guys that said "hey, all those made-for-carbon brake pads are the same"... Not so, and it was noticeably different in braking distance. In fact, it felt like as if the SwissStop pads had a much smoother, stronger braking effect. Being the pessimist that I can be, I figured the next 50-miler will be the real proving grounds.Well, all I can say is, 125+ miles later, with differing terrain and 15 short miles in a raining downpour (poor planning on my behalf), these SwissStops are here to stay. I'm glad I ordered a pair of the four-set right off the bat. It was money well spent and so now my second set of carbons (on my climbing bike) will get the SwissStop treatment. And if you're one of the many, common sufferers of dragging along a wounded, squealing animal on your group ride, I urge you to check out the Black Princes from SwissStop.

I Love These Brake Pads
I've been using Swiss Stop Pads for years and have always been impressed with both the stopping power and the soft but firm confident brake feel they give me. The GXPS on my aluminum Mavics were magnificent. So when I recently upgraded to a set of full carbon wheels with carbon brake tracks I was really disappointed with the pads that shipped with the wheels. Yes I could stop but they felt choppy and I wasn't so sure footed in using the brakes which of course meant that I rode and and decended far more conservatively than usual. I figured, OK, everything I heard about carbon wheel braking is true - the wheels are great the breaking sucks -Then I heard about these Black Prince Pads - bought a set - put them on and now I can tell you - it ain't the wheels - it's the pads. These Black Prince Pads are MAGNIFICENT - They feel on my carbon wheels even better than the GXPs felt on my aluminum wheels. THe feel is soft, firm supple, confident, precise, feathered - I don't even know what else to write - these Brake Pads are the Bomb and have completely changed my riding experience on my new carbon wheels. SWISS STOP - You Nailed It With These Pads. The only thing I cant comment on is braking in wet conditions because I've only ridden them dry, but so far I'm impressed.

Outstanding performance and reasonable durability
I acquired new carbon rims and changed the pads to these Swiss Stop for carbon. I agree with the other posts on the superior performance including in wet conditions. I do clean off the brake tracks on the rims and pads after every ride and I have not seen any wear on the rims after 800 miles. The pads do seems to wear quicker then previous carbon pads but nothing unreasonable. I expect at least 1,000 miles from these pads and that is a small price to pay compared to new carbon rims every 2-3 years. I would rather buy new pads every couple of months and go to Starbucks less each week. These pads do squeal a little bit but nothing outrageous. They squeal much less or not at all when I clean off the debris from the pads. These are a good insurance towards the longevity of your $$$ carbon rims.
