A must read!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. However, I loved Chief so much, I purchased it as well. In this 7th Kings of Guardian book, Chief, aka Mike White Cloud, is front and center taking on the persona of billionaire David Xavier, whose mission is to infiltrate and destroy a human trafficking ring known as the Bravata. From the time Chief slips into the role, you are taken on an exciting, nail biting, grab your seat drama with hot steamy romance.Chief falls for Tatyana Petrov, who appears to be a member of the trafficking ring, but things are not always as they seem. As their feelings for each other deepen, they must discover their own truths as well as face their fears, while working to destroy the Bravata. This series just keeps getting better and better! It has been so exciting to watch all of the Kings, the wonder twins, Gabriel, Doc, Malaki and other integral characters interact and function not only as a team, but as family. You could read Chief as a stand alone, but I highly recommend that you start with book 1, Jacob, to fully understand the relationships and characters that are woven throughout.I cannot wait for the next in the series!

Just didn't do it for me....
While I have liked the other books in this series, this one just didn't do it for me. How can you love someone when everything they tell you and all you know about them is a lie? If you think they are for everything you despise, how can it work? I understand the undercover work but the job should have been completed before things progressed with the characters. It just didn't seem believable. Nothing that they knew about each other was the truth. The first 3 or 4 books (Jacob, Adam, Joseph and Jason) were the best for me. Will I keep reading? Probably, at least the next one. I'm eagerly waiting for the book about the twins. But if they have to share a woman, then I won't read it. No one deserves that. I know it's only a book but everyone deserves someone of the very own.

Chief has denied himself love and companionship for so long and then comes along ...
I have been obsessed with this series since I read the first book and seven books in and I cannot get enough of the Kings of Guardian series. Chief's story is one that at times is so complex that you tend to block the rest of the world out to ensure you don't miss a thing. Chief goes deep undercover as David Xavier to try to keep his brothers from Guardian safe along with their families from the Bravata who have decided to target them. There are no guarantees he will come home from this mission and he will not have the usual backup that he is had in the past. Chief has denied himself love and companionship for so long and then comes along the concierge from the Bravata that he must get close to by any means. Tatyana and David (aka Chief) form a bond but both are playing each other or so it would appear but as real feelings get caught up and both are thinking they are dealing with the devil it all becomes complicated. This story nearly broke my heart as two people who have put their lives on hold to seek revenge and to ensure the safety of families will also put their real feelings to the side. Can real love prevail or will Gabriel play a hand to ensure one of the men he thinks of as a son will get the happy ending he so deserves. This book is full of suspense, secrets, heartache, hilarious moments and don't forget some absolutely beautiful soul stealing love.

Very enjoyable addition to the series
I love this author and her books are awesome reads; however, this one fell a little short for me. Don't get me wrong it is a great story but I really like to see the romantic connection between the two main characters and I just did not see it in this book (even though there is plenty of physical connecting going on). Granted the author did not have time to expand upon the relationship between Chief and Tatyana as the book spends a lot of time with all of the other Guardians. The time the author spends away from Chief and Taty gives us glimpses into our previous characters lives (which was great) and lets us in on the takedown operations and behind the scenes planning required, as Guardian tries to cut off the Bravata's supply chains. A brief encounter with the Wonder Twins gives us a dose of levity that once again shows that these two need to get their own book, soon. Overall, it is a great story with plenty of action and intrigue and well worth the time to read.

I loved Chief and Taty
I loved Chief! He was such a great guy who was willing to die in order to save his Guardian family. Going undercover as David Xavier took a toll on Chief, especially when he realized he would have to take advantage of Tatyana, a woman he believed to be part of the Russian Bravata. But he was determined to do his job, and even more determined to walk away from his feelings no matter how much it hurt.Tatyana had spent eight years undercover in her attempt to reach the top of a human trafficking group. Her gut told her that David wasn’t the man he pretended to be. Taty tried to fight the feelings she felt towards David, but she knew her heart would break in the end since the job had to be completed.Ugh, I hated that these two were both suffering because of the identities they had to hide and the roles they had to play. I kept hoping one would figure it out, and then something would happen that would push them further apart. I loved the ending. I also love how much Gabriel truly cares about the men and women in Guardian. That man just looks out for his people. These books all have happy endings, and they all end with little peaks into the next characters' books. To me personally, the series gets better with each book.

A hard book to read but so worth it
No plot spoilersThere are some potential triggers relating to kidnap and sexual slavery. There are a couple of errors but nothing to get irritated about. The book deals with the lead up to and culmination of the fight against the Bratva and it's incredibly complex plotline is so twisty and engaging I couldn't put the book down. The characterisation is absolutely perfect, with multiple POV, ensuring the reader is kept in the loop and illustrating the individual personalities that allow you to form a connection with the characters.Mike White Cloud, AKA Chief, has been very much a loner, with little personal information provided throughout the series but in this book all is revealed and he has become a favourite with me.His female lead, Taty, has complex and heartbreaking motivators pushing her to the disturbing position of concierge, and apart from the subject matter I found I liked her immensely. There are appearances from most of the team as the book builds to its climax. There are some sex scenes and plenty of swearing. The romance element seems doomed before it starts but it's there, and it builds steadily throughout.I have no problem highly recommending the book but would advise reading from the beginning to obtain the best reading experience.

Enjoyable read of a difficult subject, limited action.
I wasn't sure how Chief was going to be able to handle this assignment. He was always portrayed as quiet and thoughtful and I always thought a little reserved and lacking. Yet he came across as smart, vocal and self assured in his role. It almost wasn't Chief. Anyway, I liked the animosity and resolution to do the right thing despite his personal feelings. I liked the subtle play of Chief using Taty to gain closeness and insight, while she was instructed by the Bravata to do what was necessary to get results in her role, yet underneath they both enjoyed it. It was different and believable but somehow I never felt they were under threat.I would have liked Guardian to have kept Chief in the role of David to whittle out other international wrong doers. Maybe he will need to be resurrected in future books, I hope there's at least another ten Guardian adventures.Better than Jasmine the last book, but Jared is still my fave, followed by Joseph and Jacob. You basically can't go wrong with any of the series and I'm ready for the next.

Not a bad installment but there was something missing for me
Not a bad installment but there was something missing for me. Chief and Taya were thrown together and fell in love without wanting and admitting it. What I didn't like was the ending. All goes well, but there was hardly anything apart from a reunion. I actually thought I was missing some pages. In previous books you had a more lengthy development of love and how the future would be. I felt the book ended too abruptly compared to the others. It is unfortunately on the bottom of my favourites. I also missed the action I came to love from the previous books.I look forward to the other books to come, Jewel seems to be a character and I just wonder how unorthodox Ms Michaels will be with the twins.

A depraved story of human trafficking
Once again the guys and girls from guardian kick butt. I've been binge reading these books needing to see a conclusion to the human trafficking ring that was discover in Jared book. Chief played a great character both as himself and his alter ego David to infiltrate the Bravata.A great book I'm excited to see what everyone gets up to next

love chief pity about the inconsistances
Love chief but disapointed with this story. There are to many inconsistances in the story to be believable. Dont want to go into too much detail and spoil the plot but if Taty was not an MI6 agent then Chief would have been found out alot sooner. Also why is an american the head of a russian mafia? to many inconsistances but I do love this series!
