I’m very picky about pens and how they feel and how they write and this one is fantastic. I’m very impressed. It feels good, it’s a good weight and very functional that you can use it without the lights too. I like the blue one especially great for babies rooms - it’s just enough light to see what’s going on without awakening anyone. Also great for writing- the white one can be doubled as a little flashlight as it’s more bright. For writing in the middle of the night I think I would prefer the blue one. I haven’t tried them out for that yet but very impressed. I am recommending these and giving them as gifts now.

Very bright light. Maybe a little too bright

On the plus side the design seems for the most part to be well thought out. Since the light is turned on by pushing the top of the pen, it comes with a removable plastic cap that can be installed for times when you don't want the light to come on accidentally, such as when throwing it in a suitcase or briefcase while travelling. There are also two extra refills for each pen and an extra battery pack for each one. They also include a neat little flyer that asks you to give a good review if you like the product with the other side asking you to email them directly if you don't like the product for any reason.The not so good side is the way it's packaged for starters. The little bag is too small for everything that is in it, and upon opening it the first thing that will happen is that the extra refills will fall out. Mine fell out, along with both xtra battery packs into the waste basket. Fortunately I had just emptied the waste so had no problem retrieving what I needed. The refills are so small as are the battery packs, it would have been easy to miss them since there wasn't anything telling me how many were included. The pens and instructions were a little more difficult to remove. Unfortunately the instructions are so small they are hard to read without a magnifying glass.My only real complaint is the method of turning on the light. The first two times you click the pen you extend and retract the writing portion. The third and fourth clicks will do the same with the writing light. The problem is, this is designed to be used at night, and having to click the pen three times to turn on the light to use is could be disturbing to your sleeping partner.While I like the pens, and they do work, I would recommend looking for something a little better conceived and packaged, especially if you are thinking of giving these as a gift to someone else. If I did give it as a gift I would make sure the recipient knew about the small parts that would fall out of the bag, and the difficulty of removing the pens. A little better packaging would make this a 4 star item and a better way to light the tip would add the fifth star. Even putting the four refills in a small envelope with a flap would help.As an addendum to my review, The company contacted me and offered to send me another, perhaps newer, version of the pen which I declined. To me this speaks more about the quality of the company than anything else. They are seriously committed to their 100% satisfied guarantee because they really value their customers. Since both pens I have work, and I didn't lose anything in the process of opening, I can't in good conscience ask them to send another pen at their expense which would only serve to reduce their profit. I would say their customer service and their customer care makes them a 5 star company, despite the difficulties I had initially with the packaging. If you do order from them, they will guarantee 100% satisfaction.

I got these pens for writing at night and after using them a few times, I really like them. I was worried the ink and ball point would not be very smooth, since often products will be of less quality in one feature to have the other quality, such as lights in this case. I've had some pretty crappy ball point pens before that bleed and write terribly. These are not like that. The writing is smooth, the ink flow is not too much or too little, and it's easy to write with. I am surprised how nice they are to write with and I love that about them.The lights are also great. The blue one can be a little too bright when I'm tired, so the red is much softer and nicer. However, on other days the blue light is fine. Also, it doesn't actually look blue, it's just referring to the warmth factor of the light. It's a cool light vs. a yellow warm light like the red.Some people are saying that the clicking sound the pen makes is too loud. I don't find the sound any louder than a regular clicking pen. I've heard louder clicking pens than this.The only minor issue was a battery was corroded in one of the pens. I replaced it with a backup and it works fine. Both pens work great. I contacted customer service and they're going to send me another battery since I already had to get into the backup packs. They are very quick to respond, polite and friendly. To be honest, I know these kinds of products can have these kinds of issues, it's just the nature of this kind of stuff, and that's the main reason I bought these pens vs. others. Because other reviewers said how amazing the customer service is. Life isn't perfect, but when people are nice and accountable, that means everything to me.So if you have similar values, this company is great. And the pens are too.

I read Jim Walton's review prior to purchase regarding the packaging - YIKES. I am amazed that he put SO much energy into his review, life is too short.More importantly, the packaging was PERFECT. If it were any larger, I would say the company was wasting precious resources.Finally, the package clearly states "Package contains necessary accessories - please keep it for future use!" How much more clear can it be that there are other parts inside?Great packaging Penyeah!!! Bravi!!!

Just received my pen. The light (i chose red) may be a bit on the bright side, but it's great. I was expecting just a couple light pens (was looking to get into dream journaling again), but what i got was 2 pens, 4 spare ink refills, 2 spare sets of batteries, and 2 safety caps (to prevent accidental pen activation). So in my opinion it was a great value. The pens feel great in the hand with a good weight. The center of gravity is closer to the front, which is great! I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to pens and given the cost these have exceeded my expectations. Very pleased with this purchase! Highly recommend!

One of the two pens I ordered is defective and does not work - but returns or replacements weren't allowed because it came with batteries - SO I was stuck with defective merchandise - but they saw the review and fixed the problem - they sent me five new pens with a bunch of batteries and ink refills - so I was very pleased with their response

This has been a game changer for writing up notes on patrol at night, no need to juggle a torch! Have been using it at work for over a month now - still working perfectly. Doubles up as a good little inspection light for fiddly spaces too.

I'm a night maternity nurse and use these pens to write up notes regarding my babies without disturbing them. I can be holding baby in one arm and using the pen with the other and baby isn't affected by the light at all. They last long and write well too.

These pens are ideal for writing at night without having to resort to using a torch. What a great idea! Really nice pens. The spares included (batteries and refills) are a nice bonus too. Very pleased with this product and didn't take long to arrive either. Thanks.

Nice pen very bright actually much brighter than expected so much so can be used as a pen flashlight

I was very impressed with the quality of this product. Not only do they work very well as a pen to write in the dark (I wanted them to do cross-words on the plane); they are also excellent pens in their own right. I was very impressed to get spare batteries and refill ink cartridges.
