The Mag Ol' Monster has a huge swimming tail on the back that really flaps around as you fish it. Works well either Texas or Carolina Rigged. Attracts a lot of attention, with good water displacement and a great action. Zoom uses a Salt mixture in their baits that makes a fish hold on for that extra time that gives you more hook ups.

Well Designed for Murky Water Bass Fishing
Well Designed for Murky Water Bass FishingWhen locating prey in water where visibility is a foot or less, large mouth bass mainly depend on their lateral lines to sense changes in water pressure caused by their quarry.At 12 inches in length and 1 and three eighths of an inch in girth, the Zoom Magnum Ol’ Monster ribbon tail worm is one of the best designed lures of its type for maximizing water displacement to attract bass feeding in murky water. I have had success with the Red Bug color, likely because its metallic flecks will reflect any available light and because of all hues bass eyes are the most sensitive to red.Along with the benefits of such a bulky lure, however, come a few special tackle needs for getting a proper hook set:1. Use a hook with a wide enough gap between the point and the shank so the thickness of the worm is not an obstacle to hook penetration. I use a size 8/0 extra wide gap swim bait hook with an eighth of an ounce weight molded on the shank so it sinks just fast enough to cause the tail to wiggle.2. Use a longer rod with enough power to set the larger, heavier gauge wire hooks required by such a large lure. I use a 7 foot 6 inch heavy power Flipping Rod with a 7.3:1 gear ratio bait casing reel for the extra retrieve speed called for when making the slack line presentations suited to plastic worms.3. Use fishing line with low or no stretch so hook-setting energy is not wasted on stretching the line. I use 65 pound test Maxcuatro braided line which minimizes friction to facilitate longer casts since it has a very small diameter equivalent to 12 pound test mono filament. No type of clear line is needed as a leader because the opacity of the braid will not be detected by bass striking in murky water. Finally, make sure the drag on your reel is not set too tight. When fighting the fish, there should be some line released by the reel when using no stretch, braided line.

A+++
These are great and they really work. I use them mainly for swim jig trailers and chatterbait trailers. I cut them about half way and use the ribbon side. They also work great for Texas rigs if you are going for monsterbass. I highly recommend them.So!! Gettchaself some!!
