Good, useful adapter for connecting external SATA drives via USB
It arrived earlier than I expected - most excellent!I tested it with a SATA SSD over a USB2 port (without power adapter) and an old 7200RPM notebook drive (using the included power adapter). Copying files went very quickly in both cases.Inconveniences:1. The cable on the included power adapter is too short to reach from my power strip to my desk surface where the computers are. I think the cable is maybe a meter long? That leaves the connector dangling, not suitable for a permanent set up.2. The power adapter is so wide it blocks electric sockets beside it on a power strip. It would be nice if they offered a power adapter that was narrow enough to occupy just a single socket, instead of consuming one socket and blocking two others.Would do business with the seller again!

Just what was needed, and at a great price.
I needed to replace my C drive due to running out of space, and this allowed me to clone the C drive to a larger drive. Since both drives were Samsung, I used their free Magician software, which made cloning totally painless. The only thing extra needed was to use disk management to format the new drive before cloning. The adapter cable did the job.

It works! Don't hesitate to buy it!
Effing worked!!! I was shocked. $8 adapter truly plug and play. And it worked. Wow.I bought my daughter a new computer and I didn't have any additional plugs on the cable from the mother board to plug in her old secondary ssd drive from her old computer that held all her games progress and mods, photos she had etc. This was her extra storage drive on her old computer. Figured it would be easy to attach to the mother board of the new one, but nope, new computer has lots of upgraded hardware and bells and whistles taking up all the plugs inside the tower. Found this just by searching for an adapter. Saw it for 8$ figured why not? For $8 what's there to lose. Came in the mail, plugged it in, 30 seconds later windows 11 picked it up and assigned a drive letter. Clicked on the new drive and everything was there and accessible for my daughter. Perfect! Easy fix. Happy Daughter, happy life! Buy it. It works!!

good for SSD external drive
I got it earlier and found it excellent to connect an SSD drive which did not need additional power. but it was not helpful with a DDR drive and I had to get a different base to used with the drive which needed power.

Works well for my needs.
Works well for my needs. My Seagate FreeAgent desktop HDD Sata 7200rpm harddrive would not power up so I took it apart looking at a video online. I substituted the built in power supply with this EYOOLD item and it worked well. Comes with a "C' adapter as well.

Surprisingly Simple for Non-Techies—Saved Me Over $100.00
As a retired 55-year-old Oilfield Machinist with little tech experience, I wasn’t sure I could retrieve the files off my old laptop when it died. The keyboard repair was too expensive, so I bought a new laptop—but I still needed my data. After watching a few YouTube videos, I purchased this SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter Cable, and I’m honestly amazed at how easy it was.Removing the hard drive from my old laptop was straightforward. I plugged it into the adapter, then connected the adapter to my new laptop. At first, it was slow to respond and I worried it wasn’t working—but after a brief wait, the blue light blinked and the drive popped up on my screen. That moment felt like magic.I was able to access everything—documents, photos, programs—without needing a tech service. This little device saved me from spending over $100 just to recover old files. If you’re not a computer expert and want a budget-friendly way to retrieve your data, this adapter is worth every penny. It truly worked like a charm.

Easy to use
Simple to use. Just plug it in to the hard drive and into a power outlet and the drive spools up. I had no problem retrieving files.

Beware - Doesn't work with SATA Optical Drive
The item was as described - a SATA to USB adapter with a 12V, 2A power supply and a USB cable (with USB-A to C attachment). The USB cable is hardwired to the adapter and very short. Similarly, the power cable is also short. The build is average, to be expected for the price point. The SATA attachment itself was solid. I bought this mainly to connect a SATA Bluray internal drive to my PC, but unfortunately, it didn't work. The PC didn't even see the drive. I tried it on two different PCs with the same result. Of course, I noticed later that the product description mentions only HDD and not optical drives. If you're looking to connect optical drives, do not use this product. There are other products specifically mentioning optical drives (which I ended up buying).
