Pure Elan BT3 Portable DAB/DAB+/FM Digital Radio with Bluetooth, Tone and Radio Alarm, Colour Screen, AUX Input and 40 Station Presets - Portable, Bluetooth, Graphite

Brought this to replace a small Sony radio for the bathroom. I went for the graphite one. It's aesthetically pleasing, unpackaged easily and was easy to use straight away without having to refer to the paper guide. Well designed screen layouts and buttons (the "select" is the hardest one to push but doesnt move the radio when on tiles).Its a little bigger than I was expecting, but does house a relatively large speaker. Compared to my old radio this is light years better, with a much more genuine sound quality. There are a number of different sound presets, including 1 custom one, and the differences are quite substantial, meaning you should be able to find one to your liking. For its size it can produce a surprising amount of base, but it tends towards boomy and starts to lose clarity. However, turning the volume up does seem to overcome this somewhat !It is portable but could do with some kind of handle or grip, which means you have to exercise caution when carrying it around. If you wanted to carry it in your pocket, you would need a fairly large pocket.Bluetooth is great. I can connect my mobile to it (very easily) and play catch up shows/podcasts as it acts as a speaker. The volume is reduced via Bluetooth but the sound is still great.Battery life was one of my bigger concerns. With a set of brand new Panasonic Eneloop 2500mAh rechargeables, the first charge gave around 14 hours over 2 weeks. Compared to reviews I've read for comparable radios, this would appear to be a substantial amount of playback time, so am quite happy with that.It also comes with mains lead (which does not charge the batteries) along with a 3 year warranty. I'm very happy with this and in the 2 months I've had it, I've been mightily impressed - its a great buy.

I was looking for a Dab radio with bluetooth speaker and this little device does exactly what it says it will do! The user interface is very well thought through and simple to use, I got everything set up within a few minutes of taking it out of the box and didn't need the instructions which is always a good sign! The DAB radio immediately self tuned to pick up the local stations and the connection to my phone was seamless and fast. I wanted something that could run off batteries or electricity and this does both. The sound quality is very good considering it is a small device, perfect for moving around the house or into the garden to listen to music.

You do, indeed, get what you pay for. Had invested in a couple of DAB radios from, you know, well known supermarket brands. Both of them had unforeseen drawbacks and components eventually failed. This time I thought I'd go for the reputable brand and fork out some ££ and I am so glad I did. This kit oozes quality and has so many GOOD features without being gimmicky. For example how many different DAB stations do you ever listen to? For most people I suspect the answer to be 3 or less so why have more than 3 program buttons. On-off switch feels very robust (on one of my cheap radios was so bad I had to attach my own switch on the side and solder it into the board and this was when it was new!). Too many good things to say .. in summary there is nothing that you will want for in this DAB radio. Some people have complained about battery drain; I am having no such issues. Mainly using it for DAB and easily getting a couple of weeks (2-4 hours per day) from a set of 2500 mAh rechargeable cells. Maybe it would be a heftier drain if using Bluetooth? Of course if you’re not moving it around you can use the mains supply (in the box of course).

Good radio, easy to connect Bluetooth. Has dab+ unlike our old roberts solar powered. Only slight issue is volume seems to go from not loud enough to too loud.

Let me state this again, I LOVE THIS RADIO, I thought the Pure Elan BT3 Portable DAB/DAB+/FM Digital Radio with Bluetooth would be difficult to set up but it was a breeze but once powered up it is easy to pick up all UK DAB radio stations. It can be run on batteries but I run mine on mains 230V power supply so I have the clock and date shown when it is turned off (in Standby Mode), it is smaller than I expected which suits me fine. The sound is fine but each individual will have their preference.

Was looking for something compact for the kitchen and this is perfect. Simple to use controls, bluetooth works a treat if you want to listen to Spotify. Screen makes it super easy to see which songs are playing on the DAB. Sound quality is what you'd expect from a small radio and perfectly acceptable.

This is perfect for my needs. i wanted a DAB radio with clear display and good sound quality and Pure have come up trumps! Very good value for money. Thank you

Fantastic radio with superb sound especially when connected to external speakers ,great display and very easy set up , the only issue i have is that i bought it yesterday and today Amazon are selling it £ 4 + cheaper
