Yes, our garden netting itself is uv resistant and much thicker than regular nettings you can find . It will last for 3-5 years, you can use it repeatedly.

Will this keep caterpillars out of my potted basil and mint ?

It should if its tight around the base if the pots or plants. It’s very small screen. I had a couple of bees and lady bug that got trapped and couldn’t get through it.
