That is a black sand magnet pick up tool used in the final stages of gold panning. It is used to remove iron based black sands or magnetite from your concentrate material that can be a real chore. It makes your fine gold recovery much easier. Works best dry, but will work wet as well.

I haven’t tried mine yet. I would bet they’re equally good because one catches nuggets the other fine gold. It’s gonna be fun can’t wait to get mine!
